Chips soldered to the board instead of using chip sockets...
I worked for a long time a electronic repair. It's not realy to hard to remove a soldered in chip if you have the right kind of Soldering iron & solder removing strip.
But I would never resolder a new chip, I would pick me up a chip plugin the right size and solder it into the board. Then plug the chip in! That way you don't have to worry about overheating your clip. I always use a small iron for this!
If I could get the chips and know where they go, the only problem I would have would be the warrenty! I not sure how much that amounts to anyway. Their not standing behind much else they've advertised.
