Hahahaha. That was hilarious.
Thanks for sharing. If you don't have sufficient keys just press the octave shift. LOL while playing with both hands. Hahah

Probably not as hilarious as you think. That's a midi controller and sound source. They'll sell thousands of them. And go haha all the way to the bank.

BTW - Creative already has one of the best sound cards, so adding a midi keyboard is a very logical step.

I was amused also. I guess 100k isn't what it used to be!

But for $99, something this might be a nice gift for a kid, as long as it doesn't supplant the study of a real musical instrument. It got a good review here:

This looks ridiculous. Even a $100 Yamaha/Casio does a better job

Your all missing the point, its designed as a computer add on for beginners, also the sound quality is determined by the software and sound card on the computer.
Follow this link http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=8&subcategory=234&product=9389 to find out what it is really about.

Claudiu are you attacking possible owners of this product. They might get upset and leave the SZ.

Only pointing out that sometimes we say things we don't EVER expect to be taken the wrong way.

I'm sorry my friends, this is not crap at all. I know a composer who writes the music for $50 million dollar films, who uses a similar keyboard together with 'Garage band' to sketch his music. I almost fell off my chair when he showed me some brilliant music he wrote for Kylie Minogue and Guy Pearce with it. And this guy owns four studios plus the biggest recording sound stage in the souther hemisphere!

Here are his websites: http://www.ggm.com.au/ and http://www.trackdown.com.au/trackdown/tss/

How right you are Chony and Abacus. This product has tremendous possibilities, as do most of the keyboards we own. It's really a matter of how you use them and how much you learn about their abilities.

I could easily see this being a cheapo gift for a little kid OR a real music making aid for a skilled keyboardist.

The most perfect gift for a kid is a real piano if you want the kid to learn some good music ...a wood thing!..without a button and without any crap... just a classic piano. I was born and raised with a piano in my house and trust me...if i were born with a keyboard in my house I don't think i would feel the music the same way as i feel it now at this age... A real piano has this magic...thing. I used to open the thing above the piano from time to time and i loved watching those piano hammers hitting the cords....there is the real deal...natural sound, not a bit of electronic technology...so don't tell me that you guys can compare that thing with a real wood piano sound and feeling...

Er... claudiu, I seriously don't think anyone here is comparing this to a real piano! However this is a unique product and I am sure it will fill a niche market, encouraging those glued to their pc's perhaps to explore a new world! Certainly it saves a lot of space and its a great idea, but of course not comparable to a separate keyboard instrument. I for one would have loved something like this when I was a young lad! And for schools its a marvelous contraption for a class of pc's, I'm assuming the sounds are all courtesy of the pc and nothing to do with the actual "keyboard" we are seeing. Before we enter the real piano vs electronic instrument debat, one must take this gadget for what it is... an input device for a pc. Had it not been for the touch sensitivity, pitch bend and modulation wheels and the clever design incorporating a wrist rest cover, this wouldn't have inspired anyones interest.. but from what I've seen of it, it is quite well put together! Personally I would see it fit well for computer music editing when you need to be more focused at the pc keyboard, step entering and perhaps tweaking your masterpiece rather than stretching back to the main full size keyboard. I'm sure it would complement a full midi keyboard set up quite nicely!

Simon

I completely agree with you. Despite the number of award ProdiKeys has earned, I wouldn't buy it for my child (if I had one). Surely it has much more use the way svpworld describes.
Regards,
George
PS Prodikeys would sound like a $100K piano if you had a $1000 computer.
