The PSR-3000 is on the same level like the PA80? because it sounds great!

Nice Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis songs.
How is this guy actually changing the backing? I'm assuming he is using his own pre-programmed styles with the various bass lines and fx changed with the intro and variation buttons?
Just wondering as I've not seen this Korg arranger so no idea how it works. The guy certainly knows how to get the best out of it, it sounds very good, the Jarre songs have got all the sound fx in the right places. I know how hard these are to program as I've done a few Jarre styles and registrations for my T2. Thanks for posting these demos.

His web site is http://www.olavier.com/

One think i can't understand. How come yamaha passed from psr 9000 to tyros 2 and Roland from g 800- g 1000 to G70 and still korg's selling the same unit after 6 years!!!
Ok, tyros is the dream board, new tecnology...everything, but immagine that. A product still on the market and fresh enought for everyone.
What will be next from KORG? This is my BIG question!!!!!!!!

That's the benefit of buying Korg. They don't change the models every 2 years like the others and taking money away from you each time in the process.

Korg's R and D dept is not into arranger market.if they were they could have improved long time complaints about fills, over orchestration.
they will have arranger with current workstation soundboard (triton x treme)within 2 yrs.hopefully they'll get to mid arranger market with good features -PCMCIA or usb to device/VH arround 1500$ to beat yam 3XXX and mid rolands(e 50-60)

greatsound compared to roland,yams
good 2nd hand market(their wkstation sound also attracts potential buyers who play in bands(i3 to pa1x)

too slow to act(yam is starting to do the samething after 3k was a hit-every 3 yrs?),Korg should act quickly like roland after failed EXRs(no style record,2 variations, yet expensive).

In some vids playing pa80-did you notice that the player didnt trigger the fills at all-since most fills need major adjustments.

If Korg comes up with good OS,features that attract real gigging arranger players(weight etc)it will outsell Yams.KORG is like japanese Ketron.

I'd love to see some features from the Oasys thrown into Korgs next arranger as long as it doesn't come with a £5000 price tag.
The touch screen on that is superb, nice and large and you can easily see what's going off. The sounds are of course excellent too so who knows what's in store from them. Here's me waiting patiently

If you're meaning can a Tyros 2 produce similar sounds and styles to the Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis stuff posted on the link above the answer is definitely yes and much more. It has great synth sounds in it which can all be easily edited and it has plenty of styles available both internally and on the net for this genre.
As for the E80, I've heard and seen it a few months ago at a festival in the UK. If you liked the G70 then you'll like the E80, if you didn't then the E80 is basically a revamped G70 with a few better styles and sounds. It certainly wont give the Tyros 2 a run for it's money, but it will make the die hard Roland fans more than happy.

Check out JMJ's latest DVD, when he swaps to an accordion on one of the songs the sound starts before he hits the keys. His fingers actually move like lightening as he realises he has been caught out miming. He's been doing this for years. Yep my idol when I was a child mimes ahhhhhh

I guess its up to me to point out that the keyboard that is being played is not a Korg PA-80.

After all the hoopla is over, you may realize that this is a Korg PA-50.

I guess that makes me a two time winner at correctly identifying what keyboard is actually being represented.

Oh well.

Dennis

I was wondering if the keyboard says PA-50 on it how it could possibly be a PA-80. Not to mention the Pitch bend and modulation trigger is different on a PA-80 Vs. the PA-50. Maybe it is my eyesite...
But do not discount my observations so glibly. I may be right.

Dennis

I have a 3K and a Korg PA50 which is remarkable vaule for money at half the price of the 3K. The 3K is the better board, but I could live with the PA50 if I didn't have the 3K
