mikeathome1 you said All of us here are not professionals, or experienced or even entertainers or keyboard players.
Most people on here play professionally and a few also own music shops. Fair enough there's the few amateurs, has beens, never will be's, midi file users, fakers and pretenders etc thats what made this forum so good, a right mixture of people and nationalities.
You also say just go quietly...and preserve your dignity No need to preserve it as its already in tact but thankyou for the kind words. I've been thinking about leaving for a few months and this matter regarding comments about my posting to the free disk has nothing to do with it, that's just the icing on one huge cake.

Well sorry Tom but my butt will have to stay the way it is lmao
Seriously cheers for all those that did care what I posted be it positive or negative.
Signing out, beam me back up Scotty.

Very good, Don. The difference between written and face-to-face communication is often demonstrated in the sentence:

"I didn't tell John you were stupid."

When we say the sentence with emphasis on each word, we get seven completely different messages.

1. Emphasizing "I" implies that someone else did.
2. Emphasis on "Didn't" is an emphatic denial.
3. Emphasis on "tell" could mean someone implied...
4. Emphasis on "John" implies someone told someone else...
5. Emphasis on "you" implies someone is implying that someone else is stupid.
6. Emphasis on "were" implies someone is saying someone IS stupid.
7. Emphasis on "Stupid" implies someone is saying someone else is ugly...fat...mean, etc.

This is a good way to emphasize the nuances of the communication process.

Hi Craig. Here's beaming you back up on the Synthzone General Arranger forum. I too appreciate your candid forthrightness here and hope you stay, or at least return soon. - Scott

I am saddened that members feel obliged to leave this forum as a response to the extremely bad behaviour and language exhibited by a minority of posters. It is equally saddening that such language and behaviour is deemed necessary by the culprits. I hope that this proves to be a temporary phase that is grown out of, and I intend to hang around so that I can continue to be educated by the many posters who are doing this out of kindness rather than as a meaningless demonstration of the crasser end of the english vocabulary.

I don't mind when people tell me I'm talking rubbish, so long as it is said politely and with some reasoning. Criticism must be constructive or it is useless.

So, Craig if you must leave us, could you at least pop back now and then to see how we are getting on?

Best wishes

John

Nahh, nothing wrong as far as I can see, is'nt it what we have done all the time regardless
what part of the SZ or other forums we post at?
If it's the comments regarding the Free Styledisks who made you leave, it's sad, cause as I
did mention at the Technics-forum, we all have different taste, needs and skills, we all hear,
see and feel things in different ways.
Maybe that's some of the reasons that we have selected different equipment to play and explore
the various software or create selfmade stuff at?

Anyway, there will always be more than one way to put words together, just as peoples way of
read and apprehend whats written.
And things who don't fit in to my bad taste might be great stuff for other users, whomever it
is who "judge and range" the quality.

If the SZ forums grows to be a place for "Only People Who Agree In All What Said And Written
By Certain Members Allowed Forum" it sure would be quite boring, as well as keep new users away
from signing in.

So my 2 cents would be, keep on the Happy Playing and Posting.

Theo, this is a very bad style. Please let me correct you:

while(1) {
print "Craig don't go, but if you must, then come back another time";
}

Why do people have to announce their departure?
Just go, no need to let the world know, unless it's a way to make a statement. But that you can still do without the "I'm outta here" post.

All this bickering is a sign of not enough going on in one's musical life I believe. Maybe the arranger community has become too stereotypical, one board is as good as the other one, and not much else to discuss. Songs are being posted only to show off peoples voice, because the styles aren't different to to anything else, and therefore not interesting really. Unless someone has made that style using one of Jørgen's fantastic software programmes. Jørgen does a fantastic job for the Yamaha Arranger community by the way, and you never see him bickering here. Because he is probably too busy making music and sw programmes for people like us. I myself have discovered a whole new world with sequencers, plug-ins, loops, live recording etc, and use this along with the arranger. I hardly have time to read half the posts here.

But, in respect for Nigel that keeps this place going, drop the bickering posts, and if you decide to leave, just leave and keep it to yourself.
