Oh Boy!!! Saturday I'm gonna gig with DonM, so I'm gonna get a chance to hear Don's Barbettas in Shreveport La. I hope I have the same experience with them that I had with the Sennheiser and the EV Mics that I tried a couple of weeks ago. I hope I don't like them.
I'm not like Dave at all. After three years I'm sick of trying new gear. I just want to gig. I don't want to have to start trying to talk my wife into buying the Barbettas even though two guys already came over to drive my forklift only after the "for sale" sign being up 2 days.
Dave has to be a gear hog right? After three years I'm beginning to catch on to the lingo and figure a few things out.
I keep forgeting Dave and Donny are just pups. They have a lot of energy to keep fooling with this stuff. All I do is get more confused.
Boy, I hope those Barbetts suck. Yea!! I know I'm not gonna like them. I mean Korg doesn't make them right? How could I like them? They're probably made by Roland or Yamaha. They can't be that good. It's impossible. Yea that's right. There's no way I'm gonna like em. They just have to be bad bad bad. Please, please, please!!

Donny I have a Vivitar 35 mm film camera. I and the wife have never been much to take pictures. We're always forgetting the camera etc. However with the the big deal in New Orleans, I'm determined to snap a few. I'll send you a couple when I get back. Say a prayer that I won'r like the Barbetta's eh? Boo

Boo will be able to hear the small Barbettas (Sona 31C) Saturday night. He's going to "open the show" for me, as I have another job that will make me a couple hours late showing up. After that, he will play sax with me until the wee hours. I'm looking forward to hearing Boo as a single. I already know he is an accomplished sax man. DonM

Boo just phoned. He is 30 miles away and will arrive shortly. I will help him set up in the club at the motel. He will play from 8 until I get there, around 10. I will make recordings and photos. DonM

Boo did a TREMENDOUS job filling in. As it turned out, I was about 2&1/2 hours late. He played his Korg keyboard, sang and played sax. After I got there I set up the Tyros and he played sax with me for an hour or so. Then Hank the Lurker and Dale Weaver (guitar player) came in after they finished their job and we all jammed until after 2:00 a.m. Then the bar manager bought about 20 of us breakfast in the motel restaurant. I took a couple of photos and recorded quite a bit on the Creative Labs Jukebox. Haven't listened to it yet, so I'm not sure how the sax recorded. It is now 4:00 a.m. and I think I'll go to bed now! DonM
WoW...sounds like a great time was had by all, Boo is Da Sax Man!! ....now I cant wait till January for our LA SZ jam on the 7th..... post those Mp3s & pics soon....

Since I see you have 2 Barbetta 32c speakers for sale, what is your improved replacement?
Barbetta Sona 32c are superb and more!, & have served me very well with no problems what so ever. But "MY" Professional needs & musical applicatons are ever changing & so are my setups. I haven't decided just yet what excactly they will be next for "MY" personal purposes at this time. But I would be more then happy to discuss them when I make a final purchase and get some hands on experience behind me with whatever gear I decide on. I will always recomend the Sona 32c's Very Highly to anyone looking for sound reinforcement.
regards,
Donny

Wooooooow, that was close I was ready to buy a pair of Barbetta Sona 32c, when I read that Donny sold his so I guess I wiil just keep my old Yamaha MS400's. I've had them since they first came out, like 3yrs. ago & still like them, but I thought maybe I missing out on something.
Looks like Brickboo & I are going to save some money. Yippie, I think
I also sold my pair. Using EV SXa360 now, it's fuller and clearer. The 32C are not bad though, especially the weight is attractive. They have to be the lightest 15" two way power cabinet with mixer in the world. They do sound nice.
