Awesome choice I think. Congrats to you Fran. I've tried it and I do like it a lot. It's on the very short list of boards that interest me enough that I might want to consider buying, along with the V synth and Maybe just maybe the Fantom X. Suddenly, after seeming to lie doramnt for a few years, Roland appeard to be on the right track in a big way.

Good for you! Having a passion for the B3 voice, that no arranger KB seems to be able to emulate, I'm envious of your new aquisition. Keyboard mag gave it a solid thumbs up review some months ago. It seems to be a semi-arranger KB. Looking forward to your impressions.
Fran.....god luck with your new KB addition to the G1000....the should conpliment each other nicely don't ou think. I love the way the VR760 looks & feels....I wish roland woild just add an arranger section to it!
I am still looking for a good working EM2000. If I don't find one in a few weeks, I may get back to you. You still have it right? Let me know if you get rid of it any time soon. later pat

Fran, congratulations!!!
It's about time somebody got and reviewed this keyboard. I've been so curious about it for months and I've already spent this years, last years, and next years allocation of funds on keyboards. :-)

cassp also recently bought a VR-760 but he never really gave a comprehensive review of it. Plus he hasn't been posting recently. I hope everything is okay with him.
PS: I don't think I've ever seen such a small LCD screen as the one that's on the Roland VR-760. You know Fran I do think they make these ultra magnifying glasses that you can put on and they increase in size what your looking at something like 1,000 times. You may want to think about investing in a pair.
All kidding aside; the Organ sounds and B3 emulations are some of the best you'll find in a Keyboard. Plus real physical Drawbars too. And the EP's and many of the other sounds are very good too. But UD is right; it is no Arranger, not even close. But you still have your trusty G1000.
Best regards, Mike

I'm sure many of us have that same wish. It would be a logical next step for Roland. After re-reading the Keyboard report (June, 03)it's awfully tempted. Don't make it sound too good, Fran... I can't afford it right now!

I'll probably get that 760 offa' Fran in a few weeks, ( ) and then I'll sell it here ! He'll get tired of the scat voices and drawbars by then ! I was at his house yesterday and he has a lock and chain on the G1000. Curios. Hmmmmm

Congratulations on the purchase! I sure hope you'll appreciate it better than the people on http://www.harmony-central.com/Synth/Data/Roland/VR-760-01.html Reading those reviews, I have to conclude that I'm not really impressed. Not for that price, anyway. (Mentioned: $ 1700 and up)

Please let us know how you think it compares to the B4 for organ emulation if you could Fran. I didn't spend enough time with it the last time I was at the music store, but that was mainly because I was interested in trying out the V synth.

AJ the sounds of the B4 are the best, but the navigation of the VR as a combo keyboard, and the drawbars, with front panel controls makes it a lot easier to use on the job than software {B4]...
