Hmmm, wonder what gives you most for your money? Buying a 9000pro for $2000, now when they are selling them out, or a Tyros for $3000!

FYI - I only paid $2500 for my Tyros with speakers. I paid 2300 new for my PSR9000 and sold it for $1900.

You'll probably pay more for a 9000 pro!!

I paid about the same as well....$2500. for the Tyros with speakers.

There are pros and cons to both boards as always.
The 9K samples and has expansion board capability....a proven board, but support is dwindling.

The Ty newer sounds and refreshed styles and megas, a cool screen. Style and sound software.

Both very good boards though. And i think you could be happy with either.

I'm certain that dealers who buy in larger quantities get a little break on the wholesale price, but not much. There are other considerations though, such as service after the sale, technical help, right to return or trade for something else if you don't like it.

Islander,
I bought mine at Music 123 (Dan Ext. 1166 I believe) it was at my front door in 2days, I had a 30 day return priveldge if I did not like it for any reason. I paid extra for the 2 day shipping, so it was actually under $2500 with speakers.

As far as the other considerations someone mentioned.....since I spent the majority of my life in retail business REAL service before and after the sale once was a common reality. Today it has been my experience that it is bragged about alot but very little reality behind it. There are some that do still give great service but the are VERY far and few between.

Islander & all,

I too bought my Tyros at Music123. In fact it was I that referred Terry (trtjazz) to Dan Seda at Music123, after getting the Tyros (with speakers) myself from Music123 at $2,500 price + extra for 2 day shipping.

Not only are Music123's prices terrific, but I'm also impressed by their post sales customer service as well. Mr Seda actually took time out to place a followup call to me a few days after the sale to make sure I recieved my keyboard ok as well as to find out what I thought of the keyboard. I'm THRILLED with my Tyros and feel that it provides a significant & wortwhile $ upgrade (in both sound and features) over my PSR2000.

Be sure to go thru Dan Seda, and tell him that I (Scott Yee) sent you.

Music123: (888) 590-9700
Dan Seda's 'new' extension: x 1014

Scott

tonkan.I own a 9000PRO, but play my local friends Tyros every week.
These are 2 completely different boards.
9000Pro has 76 keys and a better touch and feel to the Tyros.
The OS updates to the Pro (Just downloaded a new one today)
have added a number of good features, unfortunately in their wisdom
Yamaha decided not to include them on the Tyros.
The tyros is a good board and has some advantages over the Pro, but at the present time in some respects it would be a downgrade for me to change it for a Tyros.

The first part of that story though is that I set Scott up with 2 a little bit cheaper deals first and we decided to go with 123, because they got them first.

The other 2 sources were Musician's Friend and Musician's Buy both had them a little less then the $2500.00 at the time.
