i think a Korg will definitely be my next arranger

the one thing keeping me from purchasing an 800 is the fact that i think the keyboard looks ugly lol dont hold that against me its just how i work. hehe

i will wait for the PA2x and most likely look into that as a serious option.

Hi Nick,
they retail for $4995

You should probably be able to pick one up for 20% to 25% discount.

I actually asked the local dealer if he could match the price I normally got via my ex boss in Sydney. (Didn't want to make a 2 hr trip to Sydney if possible.)
The guy gulped, asked me if I normally got trade price, explained who I worked for & what I did, & promptly offered me a similar casual job , plus the discount.
Boy , if only I didn't live an hour away from his store, ( instead of the 5 mins I used to travel in Sydney) I would have jumped at the opportunity just to get involved again..

Meanwhile I offered to take phone calls if he had any interested PA800 customers. I used to luv talking to people.

I've got a manual to study. There's quite a number of new functions my old i2 definately didn't have.

It's really been rather a bizzare day.

I'm hoping I've finally found a replacement for the gap left by Technics for me. Time will tell. Neither my SD1+ or PSR1500 have quite filled the gap( I like both of them & will be keeping them)if Korg doesn't turn out to be my new ideal brand of keyboard, I've really only got Roland left to try. Haven't had one since I sold my VA7.

Might have a hell of a time convincing hubby I need a 4th, though . haa haa.

Have you actually checked PA800 prices??

best wishes

I'd try a PA800 but here in Brasil, Korg top models are very expensive.
A PA800 costs 30% more than a Tyros2 or E80.
It's absurd.

Hi Chico,
that's incedible.
We're the oppsite. Here the T2 & E80 retail for approx $6,000 AUD, the Korg PA800 just under $5,000.
I doubt anyone pays the full price though.

I remember when the PA1X Pro first came out, it was round $9,000 AUD. At that time though, I think the reason was the Aussie dollar was down in value against the USA Dollar..

To me the PA800 seemed good value for a top end arranger.

best wishes

Yeah my PA1X-Pro Elite (which I bought - in an emergency - 2 months ago maximum) cost me only $4995 (Australian).

Bargain as far as I'm concerned - Pa2x/800 or not!

Hi Guy`s,

I have a question !

Now before you think I`m crazy or living under a rock , let me say this first:

I own a Mac , I don`t own an iPod and I have never used iTunes.

Now , we got that out of the way , so here goes:

I popped a CD into my mac and instead of playing it , I opened it and found all the songs to be .aiff files.
So i crossed referenced the info I have on the Pa800 and it will read .aiff files with the EXBP - MP3 Expansion Board.

OK , now we are cook`n , I think , so if I had a Pa800 with the MP3 board i could rip songs off a CD and onto a USB flash drive and load hem onto the Pa800.

Now , other than listen to them , what can you do with them ?

Can you play along , change different tracks ?

In other words , what the heck does that board do !!!

Many thanks , and sorry for being a little behind the times !
I`m just not as young as I was yesterday !!

Gary

Hi Hellboy,
how are you finding your new korg??
Great price considering what they retailed for when they first arrived.

best wishes
Rikki
