Did you play your Tyros alot? What do you think so far comapred to your SD-1?

Yes I played the Tyro's about 30 minutes each day and had some fun . Most of my fun came from playing all the new "funk" type styles and alternating the multipads with the multipads assigned with one touch.

A few examples I worked with are synthseq , heaveHarp,congobonga and acidbank are all very cool mulitpads to interact with the styles. I could not get the guitar strum multipads to fit into a style for my tatse , but I'm going to mess with the guitar multipads further .
Ketron is still the winner for incorporating guitar strums within a pattern . Technics and Yamaha seem to be the leaders for incorporating multipads .
Ketron SD1 does not have multipads at all .

The Yamaha Tyro's is real strong with the swing / bigband styles /power ballads/ funk/hiphop and the gospel styles are great .
Philly Disco 1 style surprised me .
I liked it .

I think the latin styles are better on the Ketron products , but utilizing the multipads on the Tyro's can help .

For midi sequence playback , the Ketron does sound better imo . Ketron's utilization of the hard drive is second to none . Drum Remix and instant editing of sequences ( drum and bass , manual bass ) are still one one my favorite features on Ketron products.
But I really do like the notation/score feature on Yamaha and the 26lbs weight is nice.

The like the harmonizer on my SD1 better than the Tyro's , but the Tyro's screen is laid out really nicely . The verbage Yamaha uses to describe effects for editing is much better than Ketron . To me , the X1 and SD1 harmonizer sounds a little more natural for my taste .

I definately like the key action on the SD1 vs Tyro's.

I would love to see a 76 note version of the Tyro's .
