I love it, but I have developed a problem in my right wrist, and I'm going to try using Midjay with a light-weight controller to lesson the strain on my wrist.
The SD1 is in good shape, but shows a scratch or two.
$2,000. plus shipping from Louisiana.

Don, was your problem a form of carpel tunnel?

Sometimes when I change a slight location of keyboards..mine will flare up..I usually go back to a more natural position, and it clears up after a few days..

Most likely the action of a semi weighted keyboard does not affect CT, as much as position..

Dan, I think you sent them to ME. I forgot, but I'll look again.
Fran,
I don't really think it's carpal tunnel. I think it's a little arthritis. I remember having a similar problem with the G800. The SD1 keys are not that heavy, but still heavier than I've been used to all these years.
I'm getting an Edirol M80 controller. Maybe it will help.
Thanks,
DonM

This getting old stuff really sucks! Doctors keep taking out body parts, dentists get a huge slice of the income pie, and all the equipment seems to have gained weight. I'm gonna' mix up a fresh batch of Kickapoo Joy Juice and have a tall one for Don Mason--here's to you partner!

Bottom's Up,

Gary

Eddie,

The equipment I was referring to was the music gear--the other equipment is still the same--just older.

Eddie, and others: Here's the recipe:

GARY'S KICKAPOO JOY JUICE
(STOVETOP KAHLUA)

This is a page from the book of Lil' Abner, the comic strip that those of us who are over age 60 loved for many years. If you'll recall, the concoction that was being brewed by one of the characters in a backwoods still was called "Kickapoo Joy Juice," after which this particular recipe was named.

4 cups water
5 cups granulated sugar
4 cups vodka
½-cup instant coffee (dry measure)
1 Tsp. vanilla extract

Using a large saucepan, bring water to a boil, add one cup of sugar, dissolve, then stir in instant coffee until it is completely dissolved. Add the remaining sugar and simmer over a low heat for 30 minutes, allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, add the vanilla and vodka, stir and you've just created the best tasting kahlua ever. It tastes great on the rocks or when used to make a white Russian. Enjoy!

Enjoy,

Gary

Thanks Gary ,
Yes, I do remember Li'l Abner and remember also that he wasn't so little!
As for the recipe for your Juice, I don't take water with my vodka, sir!! that is sacrilege (especially if your middle name is Ivan)
cheers

Riceman, I'm not ready to give up golf. In fact, I'm probably playing the best I ever have. It's surprising, but the golf doesn't bother my wrist that much. Maybe because I play left-handed.
I was all ready to play today, until I walked out on the patio. It's BELOW FREEZING! That only happens a couple of times a year here, so I will spend the afternoon with the Midjay.
I have Hank's, but AJ will ship mine Monday, so by the time it gets here I should be ready to use it. I plan to switch over and use it on my Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday job. On that job I'll have to time to tweak and experiment as I go. Of course I'll be without the vocal harmonizer until MY Midjay gets here later next week.
I'll be shipping the SD1 to Michigan early next week!

Don,

I remember one time when I was golfing I hit my ball into the water hazard. Actually this happens quite often but this time the ball didn't sink, it just sat on TOP of the ICE. I'm not that avid of a golfer anymore. Now it must be warm for me to play. It must be at least 50 degrees or I'm staying home and playing my newly acquired SD-1.

Tony,

Yes, you are correct about the address for the SD-1. I originally bought my X-1 from Don. Now I'm buying another one of his cast offs. I've enjoyed the Tyros but I still miss alot of things from the Ketrons. It's time for a change.

I do have one concern about buying an arranger from Don. I hope he didn't use up all the country styles. I would hate to have to do "Crazy" as a Bossa Nova.

Tom

I'm leaving all my "stuff" in it. They'll be calling you "Tex" Cavanaugh up there.
I replaced all the Polkas with Line Dances.

Does that mean I'll have to do the "Blue Skirt Waltz" as a polka? Being called Tex is a lot better than some of the things I've been called.

Hi Tom,
congratulations on your SD1.

I got an SD1+ for Xmas ( first Ketron I've ever owned) and I'm really impressed with some of the functions.

Luv the Live drums & Audio Loop capability.

best wishes
