So, does this means that the PA2 X pro has EIGHT different fills (two for each of the four variations) and a break fill (same for all the variations)?

Hi Dreamer, The Pa1xpro did, and I have no reason to doubt the PA2x is the same, certainly seems so from the data so far..For each variation(1 thru 4) you get 2 fills + a break pattern, so yes I suppose you could say there are 8, but remember 2 per variation, not 8 per variation, and that imho is more than enough for anyone!!! I found with the pa1x that i would use maybe 1 fill and a break for a song, very rarely did I use 2 or more. Dennis

No, the 3 buttons, plays each one the same fill without regard to the variation is currently playing. In the style edit mode you have the option to edit only Fill1 / Fill2 / Fill3 tracks so the fills are only 3. This is really a shortcoming, I found on the Pa1X many styles that have fills that do not sound well when played with some variations, specially Var1. Since the style structure hasn't changed in Pa2X I think it will have the same problem. Roland by contrast, uses a FillDown - FillUp concept that produces smooth transitions, and provides 6 fills for each style.
