HEllo to all ,
Here's a quick update from dano ........
I had knee surgery in Nov.2001,
I have been active playing raquetball again.
**** ****
My kids are growing up very fast . My daughter will be 10 in 3 weeks and my son will be 8 ( he has earned a blue belt) . Both are good students ! I feel blessed to have wondeful children . The teenage years draw near ! Oh ...the wife is great too!

I have been recording alot recently . I have mentioned that I use a Tascam 788 HDR that I purchased a few months ago . I really enjoy using a HDR vs. a computer setup . I think that keyboardist have an edge because we can mix parts ( volumne levels, voice etc..) on the keyboard ! Just getting the vocals correct and adding extra parts is really easy IMO with HDR . Hoping to put out a CD in near future .
I want to thank everyone who gave information on our pending trip to Niagara falls . Rooting for the PATS ! dano

Hi DanO!

Glad to see you and your family are doing well. I have been through the teenage years with my girls. I would NOT want to do it again! Your in for it! ha-ha

I started a new job and have not had too much energy to do much else other than read this forum. I have to find time to fit my keyboard into it. I am enjoying it when I get the free moments to play.

My elderly Mom just LOVES the PSR! She comes over on weekends and loves to sing along with the music and the voice harmonizer! I may have to get her one too! ha-ha

Take care,

-Linda

My wife and I have been busy relocating to Chicago. She has taken a job as caretaker for her aunt and I am busy helping her and writing music. Her other aunt just passed away last Friday. She was 93 and had a good life. Everyone is doing pretty well but there is and will be a greiving process to go through. We feel very blessed to be here to help in any way we can. It has been a real change for both of us though. You get used to getting up and going into work, coming home, etc. Since I was layed off from my job December 31st, everything has changed. But the Lord has His ways and His timing so my wife and I will trust Him and see what happens. It should prove to be a very interesting year.

While we're opening up here - My daughter Kelly is doing so much better since a new medication started, and she's becoming a "part" of the family again. 16 is SOOOOooo tough - especially for a girl, so all you parents of teenagers - BEWARE ! It's a new world, and it didn't get any easier.
The other girls are great, wife is working a new job (part time) that she likes, dog is fat and happy, and I just made some MAJOR improvements to my studio. I have a few sessions scheduled this month, and I'm ready to roll ! Thanx to all the well wishers - and hope you have a wonderful Saint Valentine's day !

Well, looking for some teenage girls, but no luck.

Dano, let me know when you ready to play some serious raquetball. I've been playing for about 11 years 3 times a week. I need some serious competition.

Been married for about 2, or 3 i don't really remember.

In the processes of using my SD1 to finish a song that has a couple of purchase offers on it.

Now I have to go vacuum the upstairs, bye.

Hello again everyone,
Have been away for quite a while! Long and short of it is that I got the 'big c' around six months ago. Whilst not completely out of the woods yet am very nearly there.
First off apologies to you all for dissapearing like that. Whilst I did check in from time to time to see what you were all up to I really did not feel like posting. This apology is especially for those like Scott Yee and Uncle Dave (and others) who must have wondered where I got to
Am especially pleased that Uncle Dave is back posting regularly
Was agog and aghast when Scott threatened to sell the kn5000! Glad to see you still have it Scott! The namm pics on your site were excellent by the way! Do you have a painting in the attic?
Well am glad to be back and whilst I know I was a little self indulgent lurking in the shadows, many many thanks to you all because some days it was only checking in to see what you were all up to that made me feel human. Like Don M says....this place is like a family and I am grateful for it.
Right I am off before I get too soppy!
Love to all
Tony UK

Welcome back Tony. Sorry to hear you've been ill, but very happy it is going well now. Something such as that keeps all these petty keyboard "problems" in perspective.

Tony: We all really have been wondering what happened to you. Really glad to see you back and to hear that you're well on the road to recovery.

You came back just in time to hear the latest annoucent that Technics will be releasing the KN7000 in Autumn 2002 ! http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum25/HTML/000373.html

It will be interesting to find out what new features will be implemented in the 7000, and if Technics will (hopefully) be INCLUDING the hard drive and hard drive management/backup software with the keyboard this time. If the hard drive isn't included, at least allow us the user to install an off the shelf hard drive, which is certainly gonna be MUCH cheaper than the highly inflated over-priced proprietory HD which must be used on the current KN6500/6000. I'm sure the KN7000 will be released (as usual) in your neck of the woods (the UK) well before it reaches the States, so we'll look forward to hearing your reports on it.

A painting in the attic?! If only I had a Van Gogh or Picasso up there . . . then I could easily afford to purchase: a Wersi Abacus, Technics KN7000, Yamaha PSR10000, GEM Genesis, plus every other arranger keyboards available out there too. Oh well, it was at least fun to dream about that possibility anyway.

Welcome back Tony, - Scott

I'm having problems with my oldest kid. He's nine, and he's been pretty pampered and spoiled by both sets of grandparents. And now it's starting to show. Plus it doesn't help that one set of grandparents interfere with our parenting. It also doesn't help that my husband is his step-dad...that adds a whole different set of problems that all tie together in the end.

Is that the writer, or the name of the movie? I forget - all I remember is that the painting in the attic got older and older, while the actual person did NOT age. Was it a Vincent Price movie?????

Hi all,
Thanks for your kind wishes.
The picture thing was a bit obscure now I come to think about it! It is from 'The picture of Dorian Gray' Indeed by Mr Wilde. As uncle Dave says he had a portrait in the attic that aged while he did not. Every time I see a photo of Scott Yee he seems to look younger

Scott, I am quite excited about the seemingly imminent arrival of the 7000! Having kept the 6000 and not upgraded to the 6500 I think I am in line for a change! Lets hope they have taken a leaf out of Yammies book and included a harmoniser that is useable this time! They probably will now that I took the plunge and bought a Digitech VR !! Can't wait to see a pic of one (The 7000 that is not the digitech )

ttfn
Tony

You got THAT right. Maybe it's the name "Kelly" that makes them so fiesty, and bold ! I raised a son without a hitch too. He's 25 now, and never gave me ONE sleepless night - Now, I'm left here with a house full of women ! AAAGGGHHHHH!!
