Hi guys, this is my 1st post here, although I now synthzone for some years. Hope this post is in it's correct place: I'm an acoustic guitarrist who is playing in a duo; my buddy is a violin player who plays on a very old kaway for some time. We are planning to buy a new keyboard but we don't now much about what is available on the market. On the last week we borrowed a KN2000 and we enjoyed the sound, but it seemed a bit difficult to learn hot to work with all those options through that not so good manual. We need a keyboard with the following abilities:
- automatic acompaniment;
- drum machine;
- easy way of importing styles and patterns from the pc and recording them on the machine;
- possible compatibility with other model's styles or facility of converting from/to;
- integrated loudspeakers;
- easy setup, the most ready 2 go possible;
- good full sound, we don't need top quality samples;
- good price, availability in Europe.
Does this keyboard exists? Thank you 4 your patiente reading this

Sounds as if you are describing the Yamaha PSR3000. Far better than the Technics KN2000, although it was a fine keyboard in its time.

What are you looking to spend? Don's right in that the PSR-3000 would fit your needs, but again what's your price range?

Well, we were thinking we could spend 600-850 US dollars. I'm afraid that the Yamaha PSR3000 will cost more than that. Have been reading some post on the forum and it seems that Yamaha Keyboards are easy to setup, is that true?

Hi zoingg,

If you want a good keyboard you have 3 choice:
- KorgPA1X/Pro
- Yamaha Tyros
- Roland G70

Save your pennies and go with a PSR-3000--that's all you need.

Lets see $600-$850 in the U.S.---I'd say in that price range and what you're wanting to do there really isn't anything you can buy new to fit that price range. There's the new Roland GW-7. Has great sounds, decent interface ect. However it doesn't have speakers, and has limited features with recording. If you can push it up to at east $1000 U.S. I'd suggest a Korg PA-50 or a Yamaha PSR-1500.

I've heard that the EXR3 has a good price/quality ratio and I have the chance of buying an used KN6000 for about 1300 us dollars. Will the PSR3000 be better than the Technics?

technics stopped making keyboards,so you may have problems in the future getting parts,if the 3000 is on the expensive side the psr 1500 is similar and cheaper,mike

Well guys, the price of the KN 6000 dropped to 1200 us dollars; I'm beginning to think if with the price difference between the technics and the GW-7 it is still worth the roland. Already read a bit about the GW-7 and seems very interesting, possibility of reading styles from other roland synths and an easier setup. The truth is that I haven't heard the KN 6000 yet and I can't judge it; the only thing I know is that the KN 2000 manual didn't tought me how to work with the keyboard and if the KN 6000's manual is the same thing I'm not interested.
