Hello X1 and Sd1 users ,
Has anyone sampled their voice in harmony ?
I have done this !
Example .....I hold down a dminor chord .
I set the harmonizer to setting #02 for right hand .
I turn on the sampler option and set the dample for 4 seconds .
I simply sing a phrase into the microphone and capture it in harmony .
After completing an satisfactory wav.file ( sample ) and I name and save it !
I now play a style and change my harmony to #03 for left hand .
Play a style based on the type of phrase you record .
I harmonized in d minor , so I simply trigger the wav. file when I play a d minor chord within my pattern ( style ) .
I am also harmonizing in real time since I am vocalizing live !
It's pretty cool to have multiple harmonys at one time !
My next step for SD1 users is to syncipate my wav's to the style . It's a little tricky ...I will report back when I have it done ? Dano
Ps...... If you have the SD1 you may want to incorporate the vocal drum kits into your pattern . Very cool indeed !

Hi DanO: Yeah, this all sounds very intriguing. Perhaps you could make an MP3 song to demonstrate all these cool SD1 features. Hearing an MP3 sample is worth a thousand words. Still WAITING to hear an MP3 demo of you on the SD1. - Scott

Hello Dan,

I am very happy for you and your new descoveries. The funny thing is you always have all good news and never any bad news about sd1. Maybe because you are selling them and it would be bad for sales. I am not saying it is a bad keyboard, but it is not a finished product. When I am playing my custome style which consist of Fusion drum set in drum1, Rock bass, Gipsy guitar in chord1, wave drum loop in drum2 and playing melody, having 2 or 3 keys down at the same time, some of my chord parts like the drum or the bass disappear on me. It seems to me that the keyboard is running out of notes. I have more instruments recorded in my very old korg i3. I am using layered sounds in right hand and the i3 handles it fine which has only 32 note polyphony. Sd1 is supposed to be 64 note polyphony.

I am just a honest user of the sd1 keyboard, not a salesman.

You are not imagining it - the X1 had 64 note polyphony too, and there were serious dropouts. The PSR9000 has almost double that ammount, and the same problem exists. It seems the new line up of kb's do not allocate polyphony as efficiently as the old guys. I have a 32 note Korg that handles the task better too. Not all that glitters is gold, right? Certain voices are more "selfish" than others - do a little editing and you'll free up some room to play.

Sev01,
I was just having a little fun with myself .
Send your concerns to me privately and I will forward them directly to Sandro . Sandro is all over any concerns you have about the SD1.
One thing about selling SD1's is not misrepresenting what the keyboard can do and can't do . So.....I have many happy customer's because I do not bull shit people (14 SD1's in 2 month's). Insite about the harmonizer and sampling is just a recent discovery that I thought would be interesting to share .
Again ......If any SD1 owner has any concerns any where in the World ....I would be happy to send joys and concerns to Sandro ! I do concentrate on joys ! We got the rootless chording done ! There are going to be many improvements with the next OS ......wait and see ! Dano

Uncle Dave,

I remember a post where you said that the psr9000 had serious dropouts and was TOTALLY unacceptable. You also said how much BETTER the X1 was even though it had only 64 notes of poly. Now it seems that the X1 has deteriorated over time. I think it still plays the same number of notes as before when it didn't have serious dropouts. We really need to keep our memories and prior posts straight. It must be your age and stress with your fathers illness.

By the way I hope everything is progressing well with your dad.

Tom

Hello Uncle Dave and Dan,

Thanks for the advice, but I don't even have anything recorded in chrds2,3,4 or 5 yet. I don't know why there is dropouts. I feel there is a lot of bugs in the sd1 system.

Dan, do you know how to save Display time as a power on setup. It can't be saved. Why?

Regards

Sev01
