I feel alot of the OT posts drive people away and they just lurk.

I feel the same. Some tend to post only OT.

If you only post OT subjects that I'm interested in it's o.k.

Seems the most prevalent OT posts are either sports related ("GO CHARGERS! ... ALL THE WAY!") or personal and family matters. Aside from keyboards, these are some of the best topics to talk about, no? And it is what makes the zone such a great place to be...

I dont have a problem with the OT topics, as long as they are clearly identified in the Topic Line. Lately everybody seems to follow this guideline.

I can't say I've seen Grandpa Doug on the forums for quite a while now. I do really hope he is OK.

As for OT threads I have been asked about my opinion them before now. I think they are absolutely fine in moderation. If they took over the forum then I'd certainly have a problem with them. But when they are just normal conversation between friends that all happen to be musicians that visit Synth Zone then I think that's a very good thing. All work, no play etc

But I would be interested to find out that Grandpa Doug is OK and has just been unable to visit the forum for a while.

Hi all.

Regarding Doug, he was posting at Technics forum in December. http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum25/HTML/002858.html
He and Ruthie are probably having a nice and
relaxing vacation somewhere without any PC
to log into the internet.....
