Like everyone else, I am curious about the new products from Ketron and Yamaha. The sites with english info that I am watching, beyond Synthzone of course, are:

http://messe.yamaha-europe.com/yamaha_fair/uk/10_news/index.php?pkey_country=8&pkey=292

http://www.ketron.it

Anybody know of other sites that have official news from the companies?

How about the Project Exceed, Robert? It's a Hammond M44/Ketron so the best of both worlds in one.

Bill, would you mind checking that one out when you're at the festival?

Hi Taike.

The Hammondzone Exceed certainly looks impressive, but at a suggested 14,995 as stated in the Organ and Keyboard Cavalcade magazine, it's not cheap.

Fran: I meant seeing Benny Cintioli at the Frankford-Torresdale stop of the R7.

I guess the news from Germany will be helpful too.

Donny: Expect no joy.

I noticed that Yamaha did not post info on their Messe Site about the S700 or S900 and shot off an email inquire. I got back a response very quickly that said:

"there is no information available now for new PSR and CVP models..
Yamaha has decided to release web infomations about some new products only close to the product launch in later spring."

So I guess we will need to wait a bit for official news.

notice that the Yamaha Frankfurt site has also removed the original photo that showed the S900/700.......the one that clearly showed the new model numbers. Strange.

Just received confirmation from Yamaha that the PSR-S900/700 will be available to purchase in the UK from June/July this year No word on the US shipping dates, although I think Ian said it should be early Fall. Expect official and full specs to be released by Yamaha in May/June. Hopefully more details will emerge prior to then from dealers.

Hi Donny.

I've had my eye on that one for a while.
It looks very promising.

Based on that side view, I think these new models have more of a "pro look". I'm curious about the buttons though. Are they "dimple click" or "soft rubber"?

Dnj,
The french to english translation isn't anything that hasn't already been posted in english really. Pretty much the same thing as the other specs that have been released elsewhere.

Regarding the buttons, they look the same as on the PSR-S500, which are soft rubber (and feel quite pleasant and tactile.)

I'll say this..., if they're soft rubber then I say "that's great".... The contacts on the PSR "dimple click" type buttons can be a little iffy. I've always found Yamaha's soft rubber buttons to far outlast the other type.
