So, I bit the bullet and bought my first PSR 3000. I shopped the brick and mortors locally and surrounding towns, plus a few of the internet dealers I have dealt with.

The buy went to DanO. He was out of stock when I first talked with him and I had to wait a couple of weeks. But it was worth it. No price surprises. Delivered on time and in excellent shape.

I was appalled at one of the brick and mortors. They just recently started carrying the upper end Yamahas. Their price tag on the 3000 was $2000 plus tax. MSRP on the unit is $1795.

When I questioned the price I got a litany of excuses: "Overhead expenses. Sales commissions. Service costs. As a new dealer, Yamaha charges us more than other stores"....etc. Nowhere else did I see it priced above MSRP. The sales person said they might be able to do a little better, but that would require checking with the owner. Thanks...but no thanks.

Congratulations with coming 'on board' purchasing the latest Yamaha 21st Century arr keyboard. Dan is 'definitely the man' when it comes to 'taking care' of his SynthZone brothers and sisters. I'm anxious to hear how you like (and will compare) it with your previous PSR kb. btw: hope you're still seriously considering coming to the FLA SZ jam in April. - Scott

Just had an excellent deal on PSR3000 for much less than any prices I seen in USA but had to buy it at another country (hint: an Asian country). Last night I carried the keyboard thru US custom on my flight to SFO without any problems.

Just picked up my second 3000 from Dan0's Keyboard City, great price, and now I have an identical backup. The only other backup I waiting on is a Crown CM-311-A. When it arrives, I'll modify the headgear on my old one so it fits more comfortable.

I also have two PSR3000s - both purchased from Dano. And I also have two Crown mics - but one is a CM311 and the other the CM311A. The CM311 doesn't have the red LED when the mic is on. I got it used. It's my backup.

I was quoted $3900 for a PSR 3000 here in Melbourne, FL.
I too got lots of reasons why the price had to be so high.
But I also ordered one from DanO at Keyboard
city.com, the price was the best and also got the Very best personal service and attenion.

I am a happy man .
I now have a PSR3000 and love it.
I was able to get it at a good price $aus2800.
by buying the keyboard off the floor [only one in stock]
Seems they are as scarce as hen's teeth.
The Yamaha importer for our local store is out of them and will not have any stock for a month
which would explain the prices that are being asked for.
It is a very popular item.
Is there any way that I can play a chord in the left hand without a style with the keyboard split.
On my old Technics I was able to do that but
on the PSR it does not sound so good.

Sure!
With the rhythm NOT running, just use the split function with the arranger turned OFF.
If you want the drums to play ..... just set up a patch with no arranger button lit. The LH split will play just like the RH.
I play much of the night this way using a manual bass sound in the LH.
