I have been strongly thniking about the PSR 2100 and want to upgrade from the PSR 740 what I have. What big differences am I looking at here. What about user styles...how many can be stored in the PSR2100. Can I transfer my existing styles (inbuilt) especially trance 2. Also, is the Vocal harmony quality better than the PSR 740. Please help.

The vocal harmony is the bigest improvenemt, next to the speaker system. The sounds are still great, the user memory is larger, the addition of USB is great and the overall appearance is updated. (personal, I know)
The 2100 is a huge leap from the 740 - You'll love it !

There is 1,524KB Flash Memory on the PSR 2100 so you're looking at a little over "1" floppy disk's worth of User Memory for Style storage, etc. A vast improvement over the PSR 740.

And the PSR 740's inbuilt Styles should play just fine on the PSR 2100. You might have to do some adjusting though.

The Vocal Harmony has also been improved on the PSR 2100 compared to the PSR 740.

It is worth the upgrade in my opinion. There are so many other improvements, not just in features but in the Sounds too.

With the PSR740 you couldn't access most of the synth from the keyboard so you needed to connect it to a computer. The 2100 display gives you a great deal more access to the synth though you still need a computer to get to the full system.

I own a PSR 740 and have spent some time with the 2100. It is a fantastic keyboard, and although perhaps not a monumental leap, i believe you will be happy with the 2100! Go for it m8!

I agree. I went from the 740 to the 2k and while the sounds were similar, the 2000 / 2100 series offer a lot more OS /mixer and editing features over the 740 and the improved harmonizer. There are a lot of parameters I had to access using XG edit with the 740 that I can get to directly from inside of the 2k. XG edit still allows for more advanced editing. For the most part, my 740 styles play perfectly on the 2000, with almost no tweaking, but I haven't tried them on a 2100.

After playing a 740 a few days, I didn't want one..after I tried a 2100 , I bought one[actually two]..There are so many advantages the 2100 has over a 740,,it is a no brainer...If money is not a factor, it is always best to get the top of the line[Tyros]..
