Upgrading is NOT an option on the psr2000. It was advertised with the intent of a flash system, but delivered without it.
For most users, the o/s bugs are of little importance. I have only one real gripe with the unit, and that is construction. It's cheap, flimsy and feels terible. (OK, three gripes)
As far as sounds, styles, and mic effects - it's the best bargain out there in a mid-level home keyboard. It falls short of the next level on many points, but it makes some terrific music, if your needs are simple and your touch is light.

Hi Hans1605,
I agree with Uncle D , the Y2K is a great bargin but the quality is bad it sounds great the bugs have not yet bothered me to a great degree, But the keys are bad.... If you follow some of my past post`s you`ll know I "kind`a like it"
I would not buy it again but I`m not realy sorry I bought it. It`s weird there is this "love - hate" relationship that ,I think, one has to have to be able to live with this KB.
It is OK there are better, but not for the price!

O-BTW , like Uncle D said you CAN`T up-grade

I've played it 5-6 nights a week for about 8 months. No problems. I have a light touch and do not pound the keys. It won't hold up to that.

I think of the 2000 as a nice home keyboard, but for me it was not up to snuff for either the live act or the studio. The bugs in the OS in the 2000 I had rendered it pretty much useless for me for live play. On top of that, it felt flimsy to the touch. I have anything but a light touch though. Fixes and / or help from Yamaha were non existent in my own case, despite that the tech who was going to try to repair mine agreed with my assessment and even found a few more OS problems that I had not been aware of.
