Can anyone tell me how to get the Tyros
instrument defenitions into Sonar. Will the main panel voicings then be viewable etc. or is there a complex process to be able to select whatever voices you want to use from within the sequencer (Tyros local off). I'm sure someone out there must have done it, but I'm going round in circles at the moment.

I don't know where you might get the instrument definitions file for the Tyros (it will likely be a file called "tyros.ins"), but once you get it you put in the Program Files\Cakewalk\Sonar 2\Sample Content folder where you'll find other instrument definitions (assuming you chose to install them with Sonar). Also you should have the option to call up an OPT panel for the Tyros within Sonar for editing your voices. The OPT panel comes with the Tyros on one of it's program disks (maybe Tyros instrument definitions did too?).

Hi Tyron,

You can download the Sonar 'Tyros Instrument Definition file' here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tyrosworld/files/Tyros%20instrument%20definitions/

Here are instructions on the procedure of installing it into Cakewalk-Sonar:
http://www.crestonhall.com/music/insdef_help.htm

I also recommend you join us at Simon's terrific new Yamaha Users Group Forum (which includes at Tyros specific group as well) at: http://www.svpworld.com/forum/

Good luck.

Scott
