Starkeeper, Yeah the wife's got a really good job (Federal Government Employee). Once our daughter is in school I'll go back to work myself. My health has been pretty good lately. Blood pressure gets up every so often, but when it does it doesn't get too high. Just taking it day by day Squeak

I totally agree... the best investment one can make. My wife and I were very lucky going into this too. The mortgage broker practically passed out when we initially submitted our paper work for approval. My wife and I (prior to buying the home) had absolutely NO debt. No college bills, no car payments (both my cars are paid off), no loans of any sort, perfect banking history (never bounced one check or overdrew and funds), credit is beautiful, spotless utility payment history. When it comes to paying our bills we pay them the VERY same day we get the bill in the mail. If I get a bill at 12:30pm a check is written and it's right back in the box to go out. Our approvoal took all of 10 minutes.

Yeah I totally understand what you're saying there Tony Fortunately this house is in great condition. Built in 1964, and solid as a rock. The final appraisal was several thousand above our purchase price so we're entering into this mortgage with some equity as well. The woman who is selling is going back to school to get her doctoral degree so she was wanting to sell and sell fast. She's even leaving behind a washer and dryer that are only 4 months old. We got a really great deal on this house. My daughter is very excited because of the huge fenced back yard. Lots of room for her to play I'm happy because I'll have a private area of the house (with private bathroom) for my studio and all my other toys. Plus more security for my Lincoln This condo I'm living in is nice, but wayyyy toooooo mannnnyy kids! My alarm is set off on my Lincoln on a daily basis due to inconsiderate (unsupervised) children. In all it's a great move for us. The money we pay in rent can be more well spent towards something we can own... Actually the monthly payment on the mortgage is cheaper than we pay in rent Squeak Squeak
