But Frankie, what about the terrible sounds swimming in effects and the oop pah pah [over quanitized] styles I hear from non/owner people..?

You mean they are wrong about the G70?

Yes I already know they are wrong and I haven't played a G70 yet..

I know the styles are great[they sound great on my G1000]...and they "swing" to me...maybe you have to play the right hand with a swing feel!!

Have you tried the SD1 styles converted to the G70?

Send me some of your favorite[or all] SD1 styles and I can try to convert them to Roland..
Actually I would appreciate the SD1 styles for conversion purposes..maybe I would use some with my G1000, till I get a chance to pick up a G70..

Unfortunately, I no longer own an SD1 ( bad move ) I think another plus on the SD1 is they use wave loops of drums for their rythm section which gives them a little more umph.

As for the G70 swimming in effects and have that quantize sound to it? If you condeming the whole keyboard for a style or 2, that's a little much, the only style that I would have to say is maybe the folk waltz, which by the way it is so easy to adjust.

My dilema is I keep the G70, keep the PA for the sounds, but I want a Ketron for the styles

Thanks Frankieve,

The Styles issue is puzzling to me. Why can't you find knockout styles that you like and just put them in the Roland G70? I have 1000's of styles, some of them from the Ketron Sd1 in my Tyros. I would think they can be used on the G70.

BTW, those Ketron styles I have for the Tyros do not sound very good at all. I don't think they ported over too well.

Unfortunately I've always had bad luck with styles from other keyboards converted, they just don't seem to sound anywhere near the originals.

Maybe I've gotten from bad sources, or they just don't translate as good?
