I've just upgraded my PSR8000 with a toshiba harddisk and it's working fine. I wold like to copy 2000 or more midifiles (from a CD) to it without using floppy disks so I connected the hard disk to a PC and copied the files. Unfortunately my 8000 can't see the files copied by the PC, only the files I created with the synth itself. Does anybody know an easy way to fill the hard drive?
I also have 600 style files to load. Thanks in advance for any help.

Go to Bob Gelman's Yamaha Song group. Somebody, probably Vince Cochran, will tell you the best way. You'll have to sign up to be able to post, but it's free and you'll find a wealth of valuable information. http://www.egroups.com/messages/yamaha-psr-songs

Thanks all for the info!
I will also try the egroup.
But the communication between the hard drive and the PC is solved by a cheap converter the only drawback is that i have to remove the drive and mount it in the PC. The files are actually copied well. My probleme is that the synth can't see other directories but the one it creates after formatting. It is not enough to copy the files to this directory but I had to edit the *.mng file because the 8000 also renames songs if i copy them normally from floppy drive and saves the original filename into the .mng file next to the filename it created.
