Any thoughts on how this would work with the YamaHA PSR 2000

What a system!! Don't own a psr2000 or Motion Pro. Do you like organ music? Can you re-route right hand sounds to another port on the Y2K? I believe the PSR9000 can do this. If so organ sounds go into the horn port and accompaniment into the keyboard amp. Any other way of doing this? Can a mixer do this?

Darn good questions and I don't have a clue yet! I'll bet by tomorrow I will. Thanks for the input

Nothing can imitate the sound of real spining horn tweeters IMHO. Sounds bounced 360 degrees off the wall. The Leslie mfg. use to call it sound in motion. Oh yea!

Another scenario that I'm very familiar with.

I owned the Motion Sound Pro3-t which is the spinning rotor equivalent of the KBD3D with a Hammond pre-amp tube built in. I sold it 2 weeks later. It just did not provide me with the incremental realism I was getting over and above the PSR 9000 and a Stereo amp setup that I was using.

The problem with the Motion sound amps is that the rotating speaker is only a single horn with a counter-balance on the other side of the horn. Thus with a one horn setup, it doesn't move as much sound waves as a dual horn. The other missing component is the bottom rotor which really moves a lot of air to give you that spatialization that Leslies are noted for. Save your money and invest in a good stereo amp setup with a 2000 or a Tyros.

Just what is the Amp speaker set you are using with the 9000

Jerry,

I'm using the Fender SFX 200. It's a 160 watt stereo amp with a 12 inch, Piezo tweeter, and a transversed 10 inch speaker. There are a couple on auction on Ebay at the moment. Check it out it works well for me and it's easy to transport around on wheels.

kbrkr said, "the rotating speaker is only a single horn with a counter-balance on the other side of the horn.". That is very disappointing. Is an extra horn tweeter THAT expensive?

Starkeeper,

I did hear a rumor that Motion Sound is coming out with a Leslie 147 clone. Should have complete horn and bottom rotor. I also heard another rumor that Leslie will start production on a new line of the infamous rotating speakers.

If they come out with a portable 147, I will not be able to resist the temptation to get one!!! Now what do I have to sell to come with some cash to buy it!!! LOL

I had a Motion Sound Pro-3 and it only sounds it's best when played loud. It has to push the air. When it does ... LOOKOUT ! It's awesome, but it pales by comparison to a good stereo setup because you are separating the sound flow by speaker placement.
One on one, the rotationg horn sounds MUCH better than the psuedo processor in the kb, but the conditions have to be equal. Stereo amps, widespread placement etc.
The internal processors are pretty good in many situations. Best to detrmine if you need the ultra realism or the compact setup.
