You really hit on my passion. Having worked as a photographer/film maker in Hollywood most of my professional life, I’ve devoted a great deal of my keyboard playing hobby to movie music. One of my early CD projects, 2 HANDS IN REAL TIME contained film music exclusively played on the Technics KN5000. From that project one of my favorite songs is DOWN HERE ON THE GROUND, the Cool Hand Luke theme by Lalo Schifrin. Zip files of it and several others are on my web site. There are also a few mp3 files of film music on the site. One high on my list is THE EXODUS SONG by Ernest Gold. I think this source of music opens up new possibilities for our keyboards that the usual pop song might not.

ZORBA THE GREEK, its music, the acting, and the message remain an old favorite of mine. Any one of you played it in its time?

yes, I have played many times the theme from Zorba the Greek; it's a nice song (a sirtaki, from the name of the dance), based on just two chords; the problems with that song, performed on an arranger keyboard, are the choice of the rhytm (not all the arrangers have a sirtaki kind of rhytm) and the accelerando towards the end.
