Gary, Two schools of thought here; Keep off of that Kickapoo Joy Juice which may be giving you those stones -OR- You better start drinking more of that Kickapoo Joy Juice to ease the pain. Either way, Hope you feel better soon!!! Thanks for the well wishes everyone, and I'm happy to report that most of the pain has now subsided but I'm still a bit weak from the experience. I'm going to take a few days off, during which time I have to go back to the doctor for followups and discuss what's the next step. The stone is somewhere in my bladder at this time, and he said it could pass on its own. If not, it will have to be removed cystiscopicly. I must say that I'm overwhelmed by the outpouring of well wishes by everyone on this and other forums I frequent. This is obviously a reflection of the kind, caring, wonderful people that make each day a little bit brighter. Thanks again, Gary ------------------ Travlin' Easy

Thanks again everyone. Underwent the surgery on Wednesday evening, the stone was removed cystoscopically under general anesthesia, then a stent was placed in the ureter between the left kidney and bladder. A length of suture material was attached to the end of the stent, which is now dangling out the end of the urethra. Still in a bit of pain, peeing blood, but with luck, things will improve on Wednesday when the stent is removed. I'll keep you posted.
Gary

Tony, I didn't have a cath--I had stent, a 14 t0 16-inch tube that went from my left kidney down to the bladder. A 10-inch length of suture was attached to the end of the tube, which was routed through my bladder, down the urethra and exited through my ***** , with about 4 inches hanging out. This was used as a pull cord, and while I'm sure it took less than a minute to carefully pull the tube out, it seemed like an hour. No anesthesia, no bullet to bite on, and no hot looking gal to hold my hand while the stent was extracted. There's still some residual bleeding and pain, but it's not real bad. Tomorrow night I'm back on the job and I only have two open days between now and NYE. Just another fun day in Paradise, Gary ------------------ Travlin' Easy
