It really ticks me off when manufacturers showcase a product and it's not ready for release. Not that I'm ready to buy one, but just, in general.

I'm saving up for a Yamaha PSR3100 (or an SD5 ). Hoping the SD5 is in the same price range and functionality.

With the new entertainer-keyboard SD5 the Italian manufacturer Ketron starts into the own anniversary year (25 years KETRON). The 61-Tasten model (halfweights, with Aftertouch) with 2x22 Watt loudspeaker system understands itself as key board of the elevated middle class and wants to offer new sounds and new Styles with unusual application varieties. Beside the Midifile "the SD5 wants to inspire Playback" functions now also for the wiederentdeckung of the play joy and offers to the user new Style functions (REEF, SMART 7th, SMOOTH ALTERNATE, AFTER FILL). The SD5 has also special utility functions for the direct control of the KETRON Player/Soundmodules MIDJAY.

I was fortunate enough to be given a 'personal' SD5 demonstration from none other than Ajua Alemanji (AJ) himself. The SD5's unique standout is its exciting 'riffs' feature, and 'audio' sample drum loop playback. On balance, I prefer the SD1+ w/ AJ's expansion board though, because I believe AJ's new 'expansion board' raises the SD1+'s sound quality closely competitive with the Yamaha Tyros2 Super Articulation (SA) voices.
