Yeah it's a CZ-3000 or CZ-5000. Hard to tell from the video. I used to have the CZ-1000. I wish Casio would come out with a newer CZ series. They were quite popular in the 80's.

There's another video of him setting up Ian. He starts from scratch and runs his patch cable set up... He plays some killer lead runs in that video.

It's a CZ-5000, you can just make out the sequencer controls on the far right of the panel...the CZ-3000 didn't have the sequencer.

I eventually got a CZ-1 which had velocity and aftertouch...great synth.

This guy is really into it...great imagination and some cool licks.

Nothing like those physical controls on an analog synth...just as cool(and important) as playing the keys.

Cool, didn't the CZ-5000 add touch sensitive keys and the sequencer? Can't remember if the 3000 had touch sensitive keys. I know my CZ-1000 didn't

Sorry to change the subject I just got a reply from a Yamaha rep in regards to the poly limit on the MM-6. It actually surprised him really. He stated that even many of the complex voices use only 1 note of poly. Yammie must have done some serious compression with the MM-6.

I had a CZ-1000, and the CZ-101(the mini key model)and they were really cool.

The CZ-5000 didn't have touch sensitivity(or aftertouch), but it did have a pair of SZ-1 sequencers on board...they were really neat in their day.

A good friend of mine was a Casio dealer.

Yes, Fran...it was a neat synth...I used to MIDI my CZ-1 to my DX-7 MKII and the sound combinations were excellent...they really complimented one another.

Can't wait to get a Mini-Mo on my Yamaha sample account...looks like cool little synth.

As an aside...there was a VZ-1 that came out shortly after, and it wasn't as easy to work with as the CZ-1 although they both used the same Phase Distortion synthesis.

The only thing better was the larger screen.

This is the one I dreamed about at night! Still dream about it today. Got to play one "once" in my life so far. Guy made me wear gloves to touch the thing! (I kid you not). It was around 13 years ago, and the guy paid a bundle for it
