The forum message says:
"The Following PHPBB Forum was disabled for security reasons. If you are the webmaster of this forum please contact support for more detail."
I am 90% sure that forum has been hacked. Several months ago, PHPBB forum software, excellent software was hacked and hundreds (thousands) of forums were wiped out by the virus. This might be that virus if they did not update their forum software to fix the bug. Or a new one.
Reason I saw this is it says "If you are the webmaster of this forum..."
The webmaster would know about it if he took it down for a security reason. In other words, the webmaster is the one who would take it down. That doesn't make sense.
I hope it's not true, else he could have lost his entire forum.

It's possible he invoked some kind of default 'on vacation' message via the webmaster management console but chose the wrong message.
EDIT: Also is possible his host shut down his forum because a new version has been released which fixed a potential security leak and maybe he has not updated, so, they shut down his forum.
In fact, I think this is what has happened. His host shut down his forum because of what I wrote above or because some kind of security breach occurred and nobody could respond to their inquiries since he is gone.

I have now returned from a week in the Rockies (and can finally breath again) and I see all these forum messages. It appears a warning went out right after I left, so I didn't see it. The phpBB once more has security problems and an upgrade is required. The upgrade, of course, wasn't done since I wasn't here. So, the BBS was taken off line. I will be contacting the ISP and getting it back up and running shortly, although I may be switching to a different software package, one with less security problems.
