Believe me, I myself am surprised as well. A few years long I had a wrong idea about the Tyros because of the demo-sessions with wrong speakers/headphones.
Daddy JJ : The Korg is a great machine (Notlos can confirm this!) but operating this machine is complex..... we just were no 'perfect couple'
Now, after one day of using the Tyros, navigating is soo easy....
Every instrument has pro's and cons, but the T. comes closest to be the perfect arranger for me. (It beats the SD1 without doubts IMHO)
It was just a (bad) joke....I'm sorry ...The Tyros is a very great KB...congrats for your purchase... I'm sure you will play great music with this... JJ

Roel, I'm confident that with the Tyros, that you (just as I was) will be up to gig confidence level in just a few SHORT days. I definitely appreciate Ketron and Korg arrangers for their many uniquely impressive features, but I 'more appreciate' a keyboard which allows me to simply 'sit down' and 'make music' without a complicated OS and/or steep learning curve getting in the way'. The Tyros has (for me) provided both performance & personal music SATISFACTION for over 2 years now. I (as well as your MANY other SZ Tyros keyboard friends here) extend our offer to help you out (in any way we can) in helping you get you quickly up to speed on the Tyros. - Scott
I too have some friends who like the SD1 more then Tyros.... It is hard to understand for me (now).
Now I have one problem : My PC installs the USBdriver but does not recognise the Tyros drive. I expected an extra drive pops up in the drive-window. It seems to be an XPdriver problem ...?

Yes, it should be a problem with your XP installation. One of my computers couldn't 'see' the Tyros HD. The problem went away the day I reinstalled the OS. Maybe a WinXP repair will be effective, as well. Just make the test with some other PC with XP, to make sure the everything's all right with the keyboard USB interface (hopefully it is).
And... a delayed HAPPY BIRTHDAY from a SZ 'brother'!

Happy Birthday Roel , Have a good time with your new Tyros (never expected that one coming LOL ). I'd love to see a one on one comparison between the Tyros and the Pa1X Pro(sounds, styles ,features etc.).
Being late this year or early next year, it doesn't matter very much. What matters is that some people remembered it. Happy Birthday from me also, theodore
