I think these subs sounds fine, BUT they're just a little too thin and small. I'm used to "standard" size subs and both of these make my bass notes fall into the cracks...

Oh, just kidding Dave. The Roland sounds great. I use an EV Sb120a powered sub and it really rounds out my Mackie 300's.

It certainly looks to be easier & quicker to transport only 'one' KP-200S only at 55 lbs vs both transporting & putting up on tripod stands the two EV SxA100's (43 lbs each). I suppose it's just me forever 'dreaming' & scheming to discover yet another easier way to transport & setup equipment. My favorite gig is just walking in and performing, with compliments to the Roadies. - Scott

Hmmm... interesting. Well pound for pound I wouldn't claim that the KP-200s could put out the SAME amount of bass as your EV's cause I just don't know... but would it put out sufficient bass for an average room? I think so... especially if you place the KP-200s on a small amp stand so it's near the floor and tilted up as I usually do. The KP-200s sure hasn't been lacking for bass for me yet.

I forgot about your Tyros monitors - now I see where you're going. This sounds quite plausible, and it would save you some weight and setup time overall. Might not look too shabby either. Cool idea Scott.

Dave,
You should have a look to these ones, if you like to have no weight.

I wonder how they will sound but first comments from some demo groups are very promising.
Anyway as soon as they have them in europe I will definately have a look at them.
I am sick of carrying heavvy weight's.

I was a bit afraid when I saw the title (especially from UD) but now I'm pretty relieved when I read the content

I suspect his bark is worse than his bite.

It looks like a very interesting concept. The best live sound I've ever heard in a concert was achieved with a relatively small PA system, where several small hi-fi speakers were distributed through the place (the concert was inside the ramparts of a castle). Of course, this works better with certain music styles (intimate acoustic music) than with others (rock concerts, etc). Substantial lighter weight will only be reached, changing the present concept.

My guess is that other (cheaper?) brands will try to copy this new concept if it proves to sell well.

My present sound system options are:

1) HK LUCAS (1x 15'' Subwoofer + 2x 8'' satellites = 600 Watt RMS)

2) Motion Sound KP-200S (2x 100 Watt - one piece)

3) Tyros Speaker System (2 satellites & subwoofer = 80 Watt)

I'm using 2) and 3) in medium jobs (hotels, clubs) and the combination works great for me. I never had a dedicated monitor speaker system before, and this tyros factory sound system, while perhaps not the best possible quality, pleases me a lot. 1) is for my most frequent jobs, weddings.
