Nice to hear some postive talk about the 3000.It's a great board that has got lost in the shuffle with the release of the T2 I have been using one the past year and half the board has served me very well. But listening to all the hype about other boards and brands I'm getting anxious, but I still probably wait to see what the 3000 replacment has to offer.

Thats me too Stephen, exactly.
Love the 3000, but curious to see whats in the replacement.
The screen/sun issue helps me to consider the Tyros' because of the flip-up screen. That has to help a bit outdoors.

But then there's the Bose thing with me too. Should my next major investment go towards improving the output of the sound (Bose) or picking up some board enhancements.

I'll probably end up keeping the 3000, buy the Bose, and attach an umbrella to the Bose pole for shade.

MrEd Got a good point, the more I hear about the Bose, it may be the better route than a new board.

The umbrella worked great for me, and there's no doubt about the Bose--you're gonna' love it!

For now, and probably for the next few years, the 3000s will be my bread and butter machines--they've paid for themselves several times over and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Cheers,

Gary

If I may, a sidebar question for Gary,

You probably have been asked this before, but how do you attach your laptop to the 3000?

Thanks

Larry,

I posted detailed instructions on the PSR-Tutorial site on constructing a laptop platform.

Go to http://psrtutorial.com/Resources/musictips.html then click on Projects. Scroll down the projects page and you'll see the drawings, instructions on building the platform and photos. It's really not at all difficult, and you can make it from Lexan or Aluminum. The aluminum model is about the same weight as the lexan, but a lot stronger.

Good Luck,

Gary

BeWARE DELL LAPTOP USERS ...
Was on the news today that Dell has a major recall on defective laptop batteries. The largest recall in their history. The news showed rooms and equipment burned up and homes demolished by fire due to related defects.

PLAY IT SAFE!
check the list to see if your model/serial/battery number is on it ...

A very kool thing on the 3k is when playing a SMF.........find an appropiate drum pattern, push play & it will cancel the SMF drum track and play the style drums. Hope Im explaining it right.
