Hello

Thought I'd share a couple songs I had time to put on my site today.

They were done live using the Tyros 2 HD recorder. The singers name is Chuck Wheeler. One nice fellow and a fine singer.

The songs are Unchained Melody and Stand By Me. More on the way when I have some time.

Interesting story on this. Al Hirt's piano player called me from Nashville and lined me up with Chuck.

We had never met each other before let alone performed together. Everything was a surprise to us. It was really a lot of fun for us and we had good audience response.

I just set the recorder to record and off we went letting it run through the entire set(s).

Anyway, hope you enjoy them. Of course, I've already thought of how I would do things differently

The demo's are on the Listen page.

Sign my guestbook if you have time while you're there.

Best
Scott

Anybody have a clue why my counter on the Listen page looks screwy? It was fine before.

Scott,

My internet service is slow today, so I'll listen to your tunes a bit later.

I really like your web page. The blue color is appealing and the layout is easily navigable. Great job and thanks for sharing.

Scott sounds good, I enjoyed the 2 tunes. I agree with Spalding, it could use more bass.

P.S. Got the 2 songs loaded on my iPod and will listen to them in the car on my evening commute.

Good job, Scott.

I enjoyed both songs.I also didn't hear a lot of bass, but I was listening on my notebook's tiny speakers.

Hi Scott

I really enjoyed listening to your MP3's.
Chuck has a voice and a style which takes me back to my younger days in the 60's which included Frankie Laine with Cry and Gene Pitney with 24 hours from Tulsa.
Thanks for your link . I intend to make a file with your 'starred' full hits.
Comment-- I would love to hear a vocal version of your "Nearness of You".

I am a fan.
cheers
Eddie Johnson

P.S. @ Spalding4... for me the bass was OK. Perhaps you can adjust your EQ?

Scott, the mp3s are fine, but they sound reserved. I like your instrumental stuff better; lots of feeling. These two were good but lacked that soul your other demos seem to have. Vocals were good, but not my cup of tea, sorry. I love your rendition of 'The Nearness of You.' Keep up the good work.

Thanx zuki

Your mention of your slow loading speed is one thing that I will continue to consider as I do this. I think most people have DSL and load time is probably becoming less and less of an issue.

My main intent so far was just to get a couple songs up with the vocals so prospective clients can have a listen if they want, to pick up more gigs than are currently lined up.

I didn't even have a chance to normalize them yet against my other demos.

I continue to analyze this stuff long after it goes up. I may cut the time down for a shorter version of the tunes just to give a taste.

However my feeling is for the people that like these kind of songs and this type of singing, they will find Chuck's improvisation appealing.

Hi spalding4

Thanx. I'm glad you enjoyed it. That's interesting on the bass. I have a stereo hooked up to my computer with 4 speakers so I didn't notice that. I'll check that out though.

Thanx Steve. The sound I used was exactly as recorded with out any sound changes. I'll check into the EQ thing when I get a chance.

Hi cassp

Thanx for the comments. I understand what you are saying. These are not songs that I normally would do unless with a singer with good inflection, because what could you do with them as an instrumental with only a few chords and a simple repeated melody?

When I get the chance I'm going to post some others. You would probably like Route 66 and a kind of Ray Charles version of Georgia.

Now that I see how he does his material, I will probably look for other styles ect that may give them a different effect.

The main thing was it fit where we were for the crowd we had and we had fun ourselves. Again, more demos to come for comparision.

Scott
