Hi Beakybird

I don't even use gig bags for mine and have no marks on them. What are you doing to them dropping them down the steps?haha

Seriously, though, do you think this is something to do with the way you pack them or something?

It would be interesting as Beakybird stated to see how they sound compared to JBL Eon 10 G2's, These powered Behringers and the Peavey PR12P. The Peaveys have been redone, they are lighter as in around 34 pounds.

Has anyone tried the Peaveys against the new Behringers? Or has anyone even just heard the lighter Peaveys?

Scott,

Tried the Peaveys a couple weeks ago--don't waste your time. The speaker enclosures are much lighter than in the past, but the sound still has not improved significantly. The bottom end is still a bit mushy, mids are OK at best.

I guess I have my way of plopping these babies in the trunk of my car. I thought that the grills were rugged, but they aren't. I'll have to pound them back into shape whenever and if ever I sell my Eon10s. Otherwise, they don't have a scratch on them.

Has anyone tried these?

Can anyone tell me how you think these compare to Logitech z5500 system ? (I am lacking in analyzing sound systems.)

The z5500 can be had for $270, delivered, and I suspect there will be sales very soon. They usually drop in price every now and then and are now at their peak. Christmas, I assume.

I guess the Behringers could be had for approximately $450, delivered.

George,

I cannot determine from the spec sheet whether the amp is 400-watts peak, or 400-watts RMS. What is the RMS power? Whoops, I just found the information in the manual--it's only 200-watts RMS at 8 ohms.

Bill (Semilive),

Looks like the Z-5500 puts out a lot more at 500-watts RMS, 1,100-watts peak power. Plus, the Z-5500's sub is gangbusters, and the overall sound is outstanding. I suspect the price will be coming down after the first of the year, and there have been a few sales at $199 with free shipping during the past few months. It takes a bit little work to set the system up initially, but after you mount the satellite speakers on platforms, the Z-5500 will blow the doors down.

Good Luck,

Gary

Don't play the number game...They lie!!!

Listen to the amps/speakers...The best, and loudest amps I own are rated at 100 watts..I even compare my amps at 60 watts..to others rated 5 times higher in numbers..

Same old story..don't even look at the numbers...play the dang thing and when you are happy with volume and quality of sound...take one more step...check and see if you have more head room from your comfort point, without degrading the sound..

If so you have a winner, no matter what the numbers say..
