"Now we know what the RX in RX Technology stands for; - (Real eXperience). I thought it might of been "Radical eXtreme" sound technology or "Revolutionary eXtended" sound technology. 'Real eXperience' doesn't cut it if you ask me." That term doesn't really define any cohesive definition of what really makes up the RX technology.

Also; you will almost need a crane to lift it. It weighs 3 1/2 lbs. MORE than the 76 Key Pa1XPRO does.

48 Pounds?....Yikes! ...But my other concerns would be how fast without a glitch, you would be juggling and accessing, searching, thru all the features like ...Live play, Mp3, Sequencer, while playing another, this is essential on stage during a performance. Nice power on the speakers.Price, Release date?

Wow 48 lbs! Geez oh man... That's pretty heavy for a portable arranger.... Hell that's more than the 9000 Pro. Wasn't the PSR-9000 48lbs? Did korg really have portability in mind with this one? Portability to me is something like the PSR-2000/2100. Both excellent keyboards and easy on the back. Will you even be able to get a case with wheels for the new Korg?

Thanks Donny. I forgot to mention the price and availability. Well, it's suppose to MAP for $3,499.95. That's the lowest Dealers can go! It 'retails' for $4,300 and many independent dealers (excluding George and DanO of course ) will try and sell it for much more than the $3,499.95.

Availability is suppose to be April 1ST of 'this' year!!! My opinion? "I DON'T THINK SO!" Except maybe in Denmark, etc., like they did with the Pa1XPRO.

Ouch...my back hurts just reading the weight, I still have battle wounds from the 9k I'll pass at $3499.00.......when Kb's are becoming throw away items like most consumer electronic items in this day and age.....the minute you buy something the next great thing comes out 6 months later and leaves you holding the bag...

One of the many feature of the PA1x is the sliders similar to the old Korg i-series. I don't see that in this new keyboard.

That is not true. This is the minimun advertised price, they can and almost ALL the dealers will sell it for less than that. I bought by PA1X Pro for $550 less than MAP without any problem. If the MAP is $3499, expect to pay around $2900 for it.

There are 8 sliders just underneath the display. My impression is that they work the same way they did on the I30.

It's apparent here that one's arranger keyboard decision boils down to having to make 'tradeoffs' and figuring out what you're able to live with/without.

Determine 'your' highest priorities and work down the list. Everyone's priorities will of course differ:

1) Keyboard's Overall weight & size
2) 61, 76, or 88 notes
2) Key 'feel' and 'size'
3) Built in Speakers or NO built in Speakers
4) Sounds
5) Styles
6) Other 'must have' feature that 'you' specifically require

All above things considered, I still feel the Yamaha Tyros remains the best arranger to suit my current arranger playing needs. - Scott

I agree with Scott, it's just a matter of what you're able to live with/without. I really wanted to buy Tyros when it first came out, but the lack of sampler kept me away. I use sampled percussion loops with styles, so a sampler was a must have.

Did I miss something? This only has 16mb worth of wave forms without expansion? So, if you buy more expansion, you can get it up to what? 64 mb? While the Tyros has 96 mb built right in? Did I miss something, or is this Korg's best? What about the beloved PA1Xpro? how much sample space does it have?

I'm sorry 'harosha' but I meant it is the lowest Dealers can "advertise" it for. They can't "advertise" it for lower than Korg's MAP price which is $3,499.95. You are right harosha; a person CAN haggle with the Dealer to get a price lower than the listed MAP price. I did this when I purchased my Tyros. I paid less than the 'advertised' MAP price too.

16MB is the RAM for Sampler not the factory sample ROM size. They didn't list the sample ROM size on their site, I'll have to check my manual or may be someone else can post.

The 96MB in Tyros is the sample ROM, I am sure PA1X has similar ROM size.

Sissy my arse ...when you gotta carry one of those beasts to 300 gigs and setup its no picnic plus the rest of the gear..no need for a 50lb+ suitcase to tote IMO....
oh yea by the way...I did carry a Rhodes,Crumar,Juno. B3, Leslie 147 and very other monstrosity ever created thru the years..

One thing that surprises me since this is such an expensive keyboard, is that while Yamaha has 4 fills and a break per style, the Korg just has 2 fills and a break per style. Doesn't it get tiring to just have two fills in a song? And don't you have to press two buttons to get a fill and a new style variation? With the Yamaha you just press one button and you get a new fill and a new style variation.

The weight and the price is very expensive, but it does look like it has a lot of bells and whistles.

However, Korg's keyboards have very complex operating systems.

I'm going through tough economic times, so I'll definitely pass. Will still pick up two PSR3000s to replace my two PSR2100s. I can't wait.

With Korg arrangers you can go into arranger preferences and have the fill 1 or 2 button go to any variation you like or just have it go up one with each press of the fill button or down 1 with each press. Or, if you like you can pick a variation you wish to go to everytime you hit either fill 1 or fill 2.

About those fills, many of the Korg style patterns are much longer than the patterns in the Yamaha styles, with mini-fills already programmed in. To me, you can play one variation much longer without it sounding repetitive than you can with Yamaha.

Right On Bill E! My feelings exactly. The Pa1xpro styles are not repetitive or boring.

Keyboards becomes more and more organs. In weight and price, because built in speakers. Don't we have HiFi systems at home? We can use this for amplifying the keyboard with better results.
