ok, hello to everyone here! i am really a newbie on this forum, it happened i found it and indeed i am happy now!
i try to figer out what would be the best choice for me in buying a new arranger keyboard, i am looking for decent sound but enough features as well, and i believe the best way to make a picture is to ask you guys, since i don t have the possibility to play and listen the instrument it self. in here, there is no store for musical instruments and all my research is happening on the net.
so, please tell me what do you think about this two models korg pa50 and yam psr1500, really, i know it might seem silly to ask, but for me is the only way to find out. they have similar prices on the net and is really the sounnd that would make the difference!

Save a few bucks more and get the PSR3000 you wont regret it

Having tried both, I agree with DNJ--get the 3000. However, if you're really strapped for cash, the 1500 would be my personal choice. Easier operating system, better sounds, lighter, and lots of technical support via the forums.

I like the way the Korg styles sound better. I like the Yamaha panel voices better. Just a personal preference.

I have a PA80, ( similar sounds to the PA50 ) and have played around quite a bit with the 3000. I also have had a couple of PSR2000's.

My first choice would be.. spend the extra dollars and go for the 3000, or second choice go with the PA50. The 1500 would be my last choice. It's really difficult to tell someone who cannot play and hear the instruments.

Sorry to break the trend, but for sounds and styles, The PA50 is the best bang for the buck. The OS is clumsy and complicated (I own one, and the KN7000), I am still learning it, but to my ears the 50 has` much better sounds and styles over the 3000.

Just my opinion, but I'll sacrafice simplicity for a much better sounding instrument even though the OS (on the 50/80)is difficult.

Unfortunately, here is the biggest problem with not being able to try these for yourself. Sound is so subjective, so are Operating Systems, I guess.

The PA80 is a more difficult OS to learn, I will not disagree. Once I did learn it though, I found it to be better suited for me.

well, i played pa50 before, but i had no chance to play psr3000. i would also prefer yam for it's better output's routing and for computer conectivity, but i do like korg\s styles. i believe psr3000 is still a little bit expencive for me, and i really couldn\t fint it on these online stores. what is the price exactly? and thanks again for ure help!

I personally like the styles on the PA50 and the Yamaha, but I prefer the the Yamaha sounds.

i studied the user manuals for both yam 3000/1500 and pa50. somehow, it seemed more professional and precisely the pa50's one. still, yam seems to me to be more flexible and considering it's multiple connection possibilities, also the easier OS could be a good choice. but i have some doubts about the sound engine. the pa has triton's HI, right? how than could yam compete with this, since it hasn't the "professional" sounds enherited from motif?

I sell both models in my store. I sell very few PSR1500's compared to the PA50. Because the PSR1500 doesn't have the Mega Guitar sounds and the PA50 has such good unplugged typed styles, the Korg always gets the longer look from customers in my store and almost always it goes home with a customer over the 1500. Personally, I like the Korg better but comparing it to the PSR3000, I would find this a harder decision in choosing.
