Al, is your Archos flash based? I'm guessing that's why it the iTouch only goes up to 16 gig. I have a 30 gig iPod and I'm almost out of space as well.

Al, unfortunately, 'solid state memory' (aka: flash) has yet to catch up to even near 'hard disk memory' capacity levels, but the advantage of 'flash' is there are no moving parts (ei: spinning hard drives) which will easily be damaged if dropped: head crash.

That said, I'm sticking with my 80GB 5G iPod, or eventually moving up to the new 160GB iPod if/when I need even more memory.

Steve, Scott,

The Archos has an internal hard disk. But I would have thought the new iPod would of had a hard disk installed. I guess you have to buy the iPod classic with 160 gig, instead of the sexy new iTouch. I just thought it a peculiar marketing move? (shrug)
