Exciting stuff! Thanks for the information George. Been a while since I've been able to check the forum here... great to read about a new PSR.

I never did purchase a PSR2000 back in 2002, due to a change in circumstances. Hopefully the 3000 will arrive in the UK during the summer too.

All the best,
Rich

Does anyone know what the price point will be for the PSR1500 and PSR3000? Will they be priced close to the PSR1100 and PSR2100 respectively or much higher?

In the opening message of this string, George says the 3000 will retail for $1799.
I would expect to get a hundred or two off that.

The PSR2100 is going for aprox $1200 US. The PSR3000 might retail at $1600 - $1700. So it might be $400 to $500 more then the PSR2100. That would be a 30% or more increase in price. That's a significant increase.

Beaky,

I've confirmed that this is not a feature of the 3000 (at least not in the current OS). I have suggested it for future models/versions. I understand the logic behind not doing it, but I think users in this product range will take responsibility for installing the right card for the gig.

If only the 3000 had aftertouch,I could sell my SY85. Then I'd be down to two boards and a controller. Then if I could play........

"I've confirmed that this is not a feature of the 3000 (at least not in the current OS). I have suggested it for future models/versions"

Steve, this indicates that you might think the OS could be updated. Does this mean the OS might be in RAM?
Thanks,
DonM

No Don it doesn't. The OS is NOT updateable (over the internet, etc.) on the PSR 1500/3000. There might be the capability (if Yamaha's R&D pursues it) to buy an upgraded "chip" and manually install that. But as with the PSR 2000 an updated chip could only be upgraded and replaced (under warranty) if it could be proved that there was something notably wrong with the existing chip.

Sad, but true in the case of the PSR 1500/3000. They will not be able to update their respective OS's with a flash update.

That's the latest word I've heard.

Best regards,
Mike
