Tom,

I thought the keyfeel on the Triton Pro wasn't that bad for a synth feel. I thought the keys were bigger than the Tyros, although I no longer have that keyboard as I sold it in preparation for getting the Triton Ex.

Tom,
The Triton has different keys than the Tyros. They are full sized, better weighted and have more downward throw.
I agree with the Tyros key issue. In my opinion, it's only about a 1/4 step of an upgrade from the cheaper psr lineup.
I have one for sale right now....and a Triton Studio too. New in a box - full warrentee !

Al,
You can octave shift the left hand voices on the Tyros, but noy from the front panel. Go through the edit menus, and you'll find the transpose and shift functions for all the real time sounds. I forget the name of teh catagory .,.. maybe controllers?///?

Good point UD. In Sound Creator/Common you can change the Octave settings to lower if you want. On the Keyboard itself push the "Left" Voice button to enable it, select the Voice you want to use, go into Sound Creator/Common and adjust the Octave setting to your preference. Adjusting the Octave setting will give you a feel for how the voice will sound in a lower Octave (test it out in other words). You will then have to save the setting (for future use) by selecting the SAVE option. It stores the Voice in the USER Voice Memory area.

You can also use User Voices for Registrations although the name of the Voice will show up as the 'standard preset name' not the modified name you may have given it. I'm not sure if there is a workaround in being able to keep a modified name displayed in tact (instead of the standard preset panel name) that shows up on the LCD.

Best regards,
Mike

Al & UD that warning came because there are a lot of people over at Motifator.com who are complaining bitterly about the synth acttion of the MoES because they are essentially piano players and love the 88 key weighted version but hate the syth action. Since that is very similar to the Triton action just thought I'd bring that up. As an organ player I'm quite happy with the feel of the Tyros action. Also since my Trinity and Wavestation EX have the Yamaha synth keybed that is in the MoES I'm used to it and don't have a problem with it. In fact, the only keyboard I have with "full" size keys is the Pa80. Anyway, I suggest you really checkout the Extreme keyfeel before you buy, ie, get one you can return for 30 days so you can give it a good test to make sure.

Yea, I ran into that in the edit menus and I use it for setting up registrations. But, and there is always a but, everytime I use a preset voice or registration that has not been octave shifted it resets the octave.

I would love it if the Octave shift keys would work on the currently highlighted voice instead of just the Upper manual/R1,R2,R3.
