As most of you probably know, I'm seriously considering upgrading (from my current arranger: Yamaha PSR2000) to either the Ketron XD9 or Yamaha Tyros keyboard.

I'm curious how successful converted Yamaha PSR2000 and Technics KN5000 format styles will sound on the Ketron XD9. Does Ketron provide style conversion software, or do I need to use EMC's Styleworks Universal? My version of EMC Styleworks Universal only supports converting my Yamaha & Technics styles to Ketron X1 format. Will X1 format styles load & play on the XD9, and how good similar to the original style will these coverted to X1 format styles sound on the Ketron XD9?

Thanks in advance for all feedback,

Scott

Scott,
both the XD9 and the SD1 read styles in X1 format, without problems.
I am glad that you are considering the XD9 as your next keyboard; it was high time to get finally a REAL keyboard, after the Technics KN 5000 and the PSR 2000...

Okay: before all Technics and Yamaha devotees jump down to my throat, I AM JUST JOKING (the mood on this Board is kind of depressing, these last few days...)
Cheer up!

All the roland and yamaha styles sound good on the xd9 . You may have to do some tweaking , but all and all the styles work flawlessly ! dano

Scott,

I'm loving my XD9 big time! Just convert all styles to X1 format with EMC and the XD9 will read them without a problem. As Dan said some minor tweaking here and there should make you very happy if needed. Otherwise it's Two Thumbs UP!! For the XD9 !!!

Donny,

Where and how can I obtain the EMC Styleworks for converting styles to the XD9... and how do those converted styles compare with the XD9 styles?

Thanks,

Glenn

Terry, I don't know if I am going to disappoint you, but definitely I am NOT a proctologist.

The general surgeon says:
"Garlic may be good for your health, but is VERY dangerous for your social life!"

Dan,
they don't look just behind a piano; be sure to be seated on a stool all the time if a proctologist comes to your store.
