Hi all,
I wonder if you could recommend any web shops in Europe that carry the usual arrangers. Prices here in Greece seem to be high, compared to the web shops, even if you add the cost of transport.
I took a look on Synthplanet and Thomann but can't seem to find any more.

Hi Theodore.

On the same league than the stores you mention, you have the folowing ones (I bought in all three and had a bad experience with the third). Specificaly for arrangers there might be orders that worth your attention.

My favorite store is Thomann. Quick, professional, carries virtually everything, and if something goes wrong they don't 'run away'.

Try www.keyboardshop.com they have G70, PA1X and Tyros 2 listed at good prices and will ship to most of Europe.

I have seen the prices of those german shops and I have to say that they are higher, compared with Italy; two online shops I can recommend in Rome are Cherubini
www.cherubini.com

and Musicarte
www.musicarte.com

Unfortunately, they don't seem to care much for foreign customers, and the proof is that their websites are in italian only, but the prices are really good. I have bought from both of them, especially Cherubini (but my Tyros 2 came from Musicarte, because at the time they had a few in stock).
If you can understand italian, they are worth a look (and a few hundred euros too... )
Just compare the prices...

Thanks Andrea. The price of the new GEM PRP pianos is very interesting at Cherubini. I confirmed that they ship outside Italy, so it's a shop to consider seriously.

Josè,
yes, I am waiting (maybe after I come back from my holidays in January) to go to Cherubini and try the new GEM pianos; Cherubini has a lot of things, including the Ketron Midjay , but the price is 1300 euros. I remember seeing it on Synthplanet for 1000 euros, but right now it isn't available anymore...

What are you doing for Christmas?

Hi All,

Every time I've asked SynthPlanet about an item it always seems to be out of stock and on back order for weeks.

I haven't bought anything from them for this reason so I don't know if they are OK but all I would advise is that you call them and check what delivery is like first if you use them.

David.

Thanks to all for the info, it is very helpful.

There is another thing, and English members please take note:

browsing in Ebay shops, in ebay.co.uk, I noticed that UK prices, (when translated to Euro) are usually cheaper than the German equivalent. For example, a Casio WK will go for 550 Euros in Germany which is about 330 quid, and is around 250 quid in the UK, the differnece is huge. Is there a catch?

Andrea,
Cherubini really seems to have a lot of items and in good prices. I don't know Italian, but I can understand almost everything, considering that most of the roots of the words sound familiar in English, especially in technical specifications. "Tastiera dinamica a 76 tasti" and "Sequencer a 6 tracce con 5 song ed una capacità pari a 10.000 note" pose no problem at all.

Theo,
you are right; however in this era of global communication (and market) if I had an online shop here in Italy I would first thing translate everything in as many foreign languages as I can.
Maybe, if someone starts to place orders from outside Italy, they will open their eyes and consider this possibility.

If you are interested in talking about Midjay prices, send me a private e-mail.

You might have a look here too.
I sometimes order from them (after I have compared prices!)
