Bought my PSR2000 in January this year for professional work and general use and its used regularly 3/4 times a week. I have had absolutely 'NO' problems whatsoever with it and it still produces the 'wow' factor with my audiences.

I am expecting mine on Friday. So far I've had no complaints I will let you know. I will try to go through the posts and see what "features" come with it.

I have 7 music students, 2k owners.
No problems related except the difficult data storage.

No problems except for the tact switches on both keyboards - and the LCD display which I cracked myself (This doesn't affect the functioning aspects of the keyboard).

I don't have the space in my trunk to carry an extra keyboard, so I always let out a sigh of relief at important gigs when the keyboard turns on and works. Luckily with this keyboard and the PSR740 that I used to have, every problem I've discovered at gigs were problems that would slowly get worse and not catastrophies. I had one complete failure of my old PSR740, but luckily I discovered it before I went to my gig.

My audiences go gaga over the sound of the PSR2000, so overall I'm very satisfied.

Based on the responses recieved so far, 4 out 14 people (28.6%) have experienced problems with their PSR2000. All others (10 people: 71.4%) have experienced no problems whatsoever. Of the 4 who reported problems, only Uncle Dave & Bluezplayer (14.3%) were dis-satisfied enough to actually dump theirs. Such a small sample is certainly not a statistically accurate indicator, but still interesting reading. I hope more PSR2000 owners visiting the Synthzone board will respond now. This is the time let your voice be heard.

Scottyee!
If you are counting DonM and DonM friend 1 and DonM friend 2... you could also count
7 of chiro's students!

unless students are in lesser catergogy then DonM's friends!

Although I think your survey should only cover people who write here... I'm sure Uncle Dave has "friends" who think the psr2000 is "cheap" too... are you gonna count his friends ...as uncle dave's friend 1,ect! LOL

I think it's 8 in favour of psr2000 but even of these 8 some of them think the constuction cheap.
And 4 had problems with it!

33 percent failure rate at this point! Would you buy a car with those odds?

Although i like your poll idea! Great Idea.

rgta,
Well, I hesitated to mention my friends, except that I was responsible for their both buying the 2K, and for the past 4 weeks I've been playing one of them 4 nights a week, 5 hours a night, so I can personally attest to their condition.
I don't have a real position or agenda on the 2K reliability, just reporting.
"Just the facts, ma'm." - Joe Friday.
I'm getting rid of mine for the reasons already stated: (1) I have a change to sell at a decent price (2) I get a new one about every year (3) I am very disappointed in Yamaha for the OS fiasco and the lack of support on the vocal harmony issue and no longer want to support them.
I must agree though, the students should be counted, even though they probably peck lightly with their little fingers. My friends have hammers for hands and are both converted bass players.
