I don't know for sure either... I think I might prefer the PA1X version, but I like them both.

JJ,
For me I definately preferred the PA1X myself. I thought a clearer sound with a better style and mix. But.....

The tune I really liked was Knossos, very nice. Breeze and I and No Name were also good too. Nice gallery pictures and site altogether.

Some of the spounds that feature included vibrato work better when played in a more staccatto style. That way, when you DO hold a note, the vibrato kicks in and sounds realistic. In a ballad setting, you need a combination of "none and some" when vibrato is used. That's they way a horn player would apporach it. In some cases, it's better to control it manually with a wheel, slider or aftertouch ... whatever is available to you.

JJ.
Both sounded great, and from the demos it was a toss-up for me. The SD sounded a bit more mellow, while the PA seeemed more crisp. Overall, both were well performed.

Thaks for the demos,

Gary

I just listened to "Misty" again thru my quality headphones & sound system of both KB's and I will have to stick with my first opinion....
The Ketron SD-1 overall sound is more richer & robust and the Sax & Drums more realistc thru my headphones then the newer
Korg Pa1x pro......

PS....I'm only talking about the A/B on "MISTY" the rest of daddy JJ's songs I vote Pa1xpro...

Nice demos,

I prefer pa1x but that is subjective.

The pa1x flute and sax are very similar to the pa80.
Any other opinion from pa80 user?

I agree, but this isn't a huge surprise to me. One of the electric guitar patches and one of the sax patches on the PA80 sound very similar to their counterparts from the M1. How long ago was that ? I think I got my M1 in 1989..
