Well, just as the title says, I took the plunge!
It was not a "traditional" wedding in a church, it happened on my municipality office. The religious ceremony will be held in a year probably.

The reason for this happening so fast, is that my girlfriend (sorry, my wife now) works as a civil servant on an island about 110 miles away from Athens, and the time they file for transfers is nearing. Being married helps, (or we so hope)

A little late (the story of my life), but I want to wish all the very best for your future together. We got married the year you were born, and it's the best thing we ever did.

btw - which Greek island are you on? We spent the summer of 1969 playing at a USAF base near Heraklion, Crete. What a wonderful part of the world.

Thanks Renig. She is located in Spetses, it is an island very close to Athens, actually it is ~116 miles by road and about 50-60 nautical miles by boat. Takes about 2 hours using a hydrofoil and the record is 2h 4min using my car, point to point.
Everyone says Crete is a lovely place, I haven't visited yet. The base is still there I think.
