I have been trying for the last couple of weeks to search on the Web for any information about a possible (and already mentioned in this forum) Pro version of the PSR-9000 but completely unsuccessfully. Anybody out there with more info?

And what about first-hand opinions about the Roland VA-7/5?

Two Yamaha dealers have told me about the pro
version. Another of them was the Yamaha import
dealer. He said that the pro version will
arrive in the end of summer and that the only
differences are that there will be six octaves
of keys and no speakers. Maybe without the
"great" internal speakers the keyboard will be
not as heavy as the standard PSR9000. I still
prefer the standard version.

I am reposting a message from Frank L. Rosenthal from the ebay-Yamaha-Songs group.

"Looks like I may have to "eat my words". There will in fact be a Pro
Version of the PSR 9000. It will be a 76 key arranger keyboard housed
in machine similar to Yamaha's EX5 (with no speakers). The operating
system will be similar to the PSR 9000 with 48 MB of sampled voice
ROM. It should be available by December 2000."

Here is Yves first post from Belgium from another thread in this forum.

"Yamaha introduced his expanded version of the PSR-9000, with a lot more features for about the same price."

Here is Yves second post from another thread on this forum dated April 19,2000

"Sunday, I'm gonna hear Roland's new VA-7 keyboard here in Belgium, and the expanded version of the Yamaha PSR-9000. Don't ask me what the difference is between the expanded version and the "old" version. They only told me that there will be a lot more features for about the same price, and this as a reaction on Roland's new VA-7."

My fantasy is that armed agents from "Company Y" have abducted Yves to prevent him from spilling more beans.

Well, it seems that where's smoke there might actually be a fire. I agree you with you Clif, and extending your fantasy, I bet Yves is still under a stress test (testing the new keyboard) and that they won't release him until the keyboard is without bugs and corresponding to every arranger's dream and competitor's nightmare! Maybe they'll do something in between a PSR900 and a EX5, regarding capabilities.

You wish!
