Murphy's, huh? I may know where that is. While searching eBay, I found a Roland VA-3 - looked interesting, so I did some research and stumbled onto some new prospects. Thanks to www.rolandkeyboardclub.com, I saw some info and demos of the VA-3,5 and 7 and am VERY impressed.

I don't know what resale or auction prices are like, (the VA-3 listed is < $80, but with five days to go) I know they're about 6-7 years old now and I don't remember ever seeing one for sale before. Also found some very favorable comments from older posts on SZ. VA users, speak up, please!

Thanks,

Kelly - the go to guys for Roland info are Diki and Fran Carango. Fran hasn't checked into this thread, but you can find him on many threads. Email him with questions; he will answer quickly and accurately.

Hi Kelly,

Welcome to the forum. Here's a link to a site that was, for a while, THE place to go for i-series boards. Most of the content on the site is still available and there is a lot to be learned from it.

I can certainly vouch for the build quality and durability of these older Korg boards having owned an i30 since 1999.

Here's the link:

Thanks, Tye! Yes, I live in North Dallas. I'd been planning a trip to Mr. E's Music in Bedford (part of the re-organized Brook Mays / C&S chain that used to RULE the N. Texas music scene), but noticed on their website's product list they show Roland "except HK". No "Home" products such as the E series? Interesting that in area as big as this it's hard to find a Roland "HK" dealer - I'll check Murphy's out.

I'm about to start a fresh topic on suitable older arrangers in this forum and post my impressions of what I've seen for sale and research I've done on 'em. Please join in!

Thanks again everyone,
