I had mine stored safely in disk boxes in a cupboard for about 3years ( I had a music break during that time). When I ended up with a keyboard again, I got all my disks back out. At least 50% had corrupted files. Some were missing the odd file, some were supposedly unformatted ( these had lost my files altogether).
