Hmmmm..... more to ponder:
The factory style disk from the PRO will not play in the Ty, and the styles I save from the TY won't load in the PRO.
I expected the megavoices to be absent, but I thought the drums would play at least.
Hmmm...... Don't tell me I have to actually read the Manual !!!!!! Grrrrrrr

Dave, the styles from the Ty will load in the
Pro, you have to
remove the OTS & the Database stuff.
You can use a program made by Michael P Bedesem called
Style Fix, it works great & you can run a hole batch thru in no time.

You can get the program free at SVPworld here is a link. http://www.svpworld.com/psr_software.htm
If the link don't work let me know & I will
Email you.
Let me know !!!!!!!
You can use the same program to get the PSR 2000 / 2100 styles
to load in the Pro.

Uncle Dave,

The Pro styles end with .sty
The Tyros styles end with .ty
All you have to do is change the ending on the computer.

Eric, that's a NEW one on me. Ty may be the nick for Tyros, but both Tyros & 9000pro styles end with .sty

I have done some recent conversions of Tyros styles and found all kinds of style name endings as follows:

.prs
.bcs
.sst
.pst
.sty

Usually you would need to remove the OTS parts from PSR 2100, PSR 2000 & Tyros styles for them to work properly on the 9000 Pro or earlier versions of PSRs. In addition, you would need to rename the style to the .sty extension.

Hi Scott,

I wrote the reply from work, so I couldn't check it out on my computer.

When I get styles from Germany, they are for the 9000, 9000Pro and the Tyros.

The Tyros styles have the ending ty.sty
The others just .sty

Hope this helps

Eric

Hi

Get my No OTS program from http://home7.inet.tele.dk/js/noots/index.htm
to remove OTS and to save with .sty extension.

UD. I have all the Styles from Tyros,2000 & 2100 &CVP209. As already been mentioned, with the simple deletion of the OTS and the extensions re-named to .sty. All the Styles load & work fully on my 9000PRO.

Graham

Do you find the Tyros, 2000/2100 and 209 styles play well on the pro after conversion? I have downloaded certainly some of the Ty styles and found them to be awful (maybe it was just the files I found?) I think out of a fairly substantial d/l I ended up witj about three useable styles.

I have never found 2000 or 209 styles to try but assumed they were the same as the Ty anyway. Did you have to tweak the styles yourself to get a decent sound? If so did you do this via the pro or use a software prog to do it? I have not had much success with software progs ..... even removing OTS is a VERY hit and miss affair (at least for me which probably says it all )

Sorry for all the questions
All the best
Tony
