I can see your point!.. Man I can just see it now if the Tyros comes out and flops.... Honestly I think Yamaha may have taken some good advice from WE USERS this time when making this board. Granted this is no SD-1 or GEMS flagship, it is however a good step foward for Yamaha... I think this Tyros cold be a really big step in the right direction for Yamaha with their arrangers. Of course the hype is going to be high, but you have to consider how dedicated some of the players here on the forum are... Only time will tell... We just have to wait until these boards are in the hands of users and are out there performing with them... Squeak

A member of our group, from taiwan I believe went to visit his local dealer to enquire about the delays in shipping the tyros. Apparently his yamaha dealer told him that yamaha were holding back shipping of the tyros because of a legal challenge from other concerned parties as to yamaha's claim to the tyros demos and voices being a true representation of the keyboard itself. He (our member) went on to say that 90% of the sounds didnt actually exist in the keyboard and were played on real instruments and converted to midi data, and could not be replicated on the tyros because the sounds didnt exist! Personally this sounds a load of rubbish to me. It is a well known fact that the guitar styles were recorded using a GR50 midi guitar convertor and a session guitarist, Yamaha have said this on their official website. It is a well known fact that many of the demos we hear on keyboards could not be easily if at all replicated without resorting to external sequencers and perhaps even midi controllers. The demos are intended to showcase the voices of the keyboard which they do very well. I dont believe that the demos are digital audio recordings stored in the keyboard for one minute, the storage required would be too excessive. They are indeed midi sequences but perhaps a bit more sophisticated that what many of us could achieve ourselves. There are already many rumours going around as to why the TYROS is taking longer than expected to hit the stores. Someone also suggested it was a problem with the case mouldings, we have heard that the music database has problems and requires updating, and so on. Another member of our group contacted yamaha and spoke with them, they denied any such rumours. That's basically the situation at the moment, for further discussions on these matters please join the discussion group at www.tyrosworld.com.
