I've started the Atkins diet and, so far, it's working just fine. I have yet to feel any hunger. I eat as much as I want, in fact, I still eat a bit too much. But what I eat is changed. A minimum intake of carbohydrates, i.e. no sugars, deserts, or bread! However, after one month, including a trip to New Orleans, I've lost 18 pounds. I'm now looking forward to another month of shrinking. Of course, I'd have to keep this up for 10 months before there is nothing to poke a finger at!

I most definately recommend you "tons of" CAUTION! I am an extremely skeptical person towards all kinds of "crazy" miraculous diets, Dr Atkins' included. I don't doubt you got the results you describe, but I also think one should try to understand HOW it works and ASK IF it's healthy or not. I'm in a rush now, but later I'll tell you what I know about this diet. For me, THE ONLY REAL way of achieving (and keeping) an adequate weight is to "eat properly" and exercise regularly. Everything else is an expensive illusion, with a non negligible possibility of becoming an unhealthy choice you'll regret. -- José.

Noted Dough Boy Dies..................
Veteran Pillsbury spokesman Pop N. Fresh died Wednesday of a severe yeast infection He was 71. He was buried Friday in one of the biggest funerals in years. Dozens of celebrities turned out including Mrs. Butterworth, the California Raisins, Hungry Jack, Betty Crocker, and the Hostess Twinkies The graveside was piled high with flours, as longtime friend Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy, describing Fresh as a man who "never knew he was kneaded".
Fresh rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a smart cookie, and wasted much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Still, even as a crusty old man, he was a roll model to millions. Fresh is survived by his second wife. They had two children, and... one in the oven.
